Great gift for 8-year-old
Great book- so many interesting pictures and facts! My 8yo nephew liked it okay, but wasn’t really into it until we pointed out some cool things. Now he looks through it on his own and really enjoys it.

Good Deal on A Beloved Book
My grandson's 2017 edition of this book was falling apart and I wasn't willing to pay $25 for the 2021 edition. We bought this 2020 edition for $15 and he is thrilled. He carries this book with him when we go out (hairdresser yesterday) and reads aloud to anyone who will listen.

Colorful and fun, though some of the records are a bit of a reach...
I remember pouring over the old black and white almanac-sized Guinness Books when I was a kid, wondering who was the biggest, fastest, oldest etc. This slick coffee-table-sized hard cover is great for kids to study and filled with full color photos for them to check out the various sensations, achievements and oddities. My only gripe is that as world records have become a business some trivial ones appear. Guinness World Records merged with Ripley's Believe It or Not in 2008 and makes a good business charging fees to certify 'records'. The person with the most Marvel character tattoos? Seriously? Things like this, and the pages of video game records make the book feel like it's filled with product placement (which it may well be). But still, it's the kind of fun stuff that kids enjoy reading and can pick up at their leisure.

Something fun for the kids to read!
Bought this for our kids...thought it would be fun for them to read all the interesting world records. My son, 7, likes it more than our 13 year old daughter. Nice book, very colorful pages....if you have a curious kid, this will keep their attention.

Just as I remember ye olde "Guinness BWR" from my childhood - this tome is PACKED with FASCINATING iNFO - the THINGS PEOPLE CAN DO - Wow! I am super happy I bought this book - belongs in every Library - just to know Man's quirky nature, and What we are CAPABLE OF DOING, when we put our zany minds to it! Don't miss!
