Easy to "program" and the 5v IO makes it easy to use. Review: Not Beginner Friendly - Not very user-friendly. Documentation, They have. But lots missing. The docs end after a lot of beginner-friendly setup, but before giving useful examples. For example, they say they have 24 IO pins that are 5v tolerant. But the there are a total of 32 header pins. Which 24 pins of those 32 easily-accessible pins are 5v tolerant? They don't say in the documentation. They don't even give a picture to help regarding where I can find those. I can see where the 5v compatible bus chips are close to certain pins. So I can make a reasonable guess, but there are ~ 6 dubious pins, and I will have to test to find the limits. Drivers were a pain to install. Couldn't get this to work on a window 7 PC. Nor an emulated (arm) windows11 pc. The UnoProLogic has evolved over time. Originally the board included the EPM570 (MAX II). In 2015 we switched to 5M570 to take advantage of the better technology. At that time we also included the FT2232HQ USB to Serial chip and a four channel ADC. The USB to Serial chip is a dual channel device. One channel provides an eight bit bi-directional data path between CPLD and Host PC. The second channel provides a JTAG programming path to the CPLD. The CPLD is programmed directly from Quartus Prime Lite v18.1. Finally had to buy a PC with windows 11 to get this to work. ### ⭐ Appears to Power Up, I guess? *by G***E on September 16, 2019* I was excited to try a MAX V without spending a ton on an official eval board. Unfortunately, this one misses the mark. Although I suppose some people want level translation on every single pin, the level translators will only work in one direction at a time. This means that for each group of eight pins, you can only communicate in one direction. Although you can change said direction, it makes for a very inconvenient pin placement. The bigger issue is that the drivers provided for the FT2232 USB->JTAG adapter are unsigned.
