I would have preferred it to have a more durable aluminum frame with plastic blades. Keep in mind that the Wathai fan ads do not list any UL or other agency approvals. So, the plastic material actually used may not comply with governmental safety, fire, etc regulations for electric/electronic devices. Many of the EC style fans I looked at from more common manufacturers, before I selected the Wathai, were 2-4x as expensive (with UL and other certifications) so I'm assuming there has been some cost savings in materials; i.e., plastic frame vs aluminum, etc. However, I will say my fans have worked well since purchase and there's no deformation with being used near the woodstove so I can't complain about the construction Wathai has used. **Q: Is this product UL approved, or safety approved by any other safety governing agency?** A: It has the [CE] logo on it which is basically the Canadian version of the USA [UL] **Q: Can this run 24/7?** A: Absolutely! I use two at the top rear of my wood stove to circulate air out over the front and they run 24/7 for days on end during winter.
