I’ve been using this for about a year and I have found it so useful for administering my dog’s medication

This product is a life saver! I have the hardest time trying to get a pill into my cat and I have the wounds & scars to prove it. I've had to medicate her a lot in the last couple of years so she quickly builds suspicion to the least change in our routine and she bolts to hide under the bed where I can't easily get to her. I think I could wrestle crocodiles easier than trying to medicate her. With this product, she thinks its a new treat and does not manage to eat the treat and then spit the pill out....with American cheese, Vienna sausages & occasionally onion dip she figured out they were loaded treats & would not eat them at all or would eat around the pill. I store my product in the refrigerator (though not required) because she seems to like cooler foods and when I medicate her I feed her meds like a treat and then throw in a couple of "blanks" of just round balls with no meds in them. I still get the side eye occasionally but since she enjoys the taste and texture of the treat, it's no where near the challenge it used to be. The product gives me peace of mind that she is getting what she needs in the way of her medicine and its nice to not have to fight and lose her total trust in me. The portion I received should last me a long time so its one of the best $20's ever spent. The bacon flavor smells nice even to me & if it can please my little snowflake, it should please anybody's pet. I highly recommend this product and plan to always have it on hand.

Good pill wrap. I was afraid that my dogs would not like the taste or that it might cause stomach upset, but neither is the case. My dogs eat the pills I wrap every tme, and it seems safe and easy on the stomach. It is easy to scoop out, like a paste, and form around any pill. It is thick, but can be made as thin as needed. It has a smooth texture. It is quite costly. This is the only pill wrap I have ever tried, as it is what my vet sells, but since it works, I'll continue to repurchase as needed.

One of our cats recently developed heart problems and had to take medicine daily. He's the most nervous and easily frightened cat of the dozen or so we've had so grabbing him to squirt medicine in his mouth was incredibly difficult. And I'm sure he was terrified every time we did it. But we learned from our vet of a service called MixLabs that mix the medicine into an edible "treat". He hates taking medicine and even in treat form, he refuses to take it. We found this product and figured it was worth a shot and it has worked perfectly. We wrap the pill/treat in some of this stuff and he eats it right up. It has made ours and his life so much easier. It's basically like bacon flavored Play-Doh. You just pull out a little bit and wrap the pill or whatever in it. Make sure that the pill stays within the wrap and doesn't touch any of the exterior. Your pet will smell the meds if it touches the outside of the wrap. One trick we do is to stick a crunchy treat on the side. The pill wrap is kind of slick and it sometimes is difficult for my cat to pick up and keep in his mouth while chewing. The dry treat gives his tongue something to grip while he licks it up and chews it. And it masks the smell of the medicine even more. This stuff is kind of expensive but it's worth every penny to us. Before the pill wrap, our cat was always nervous around us and scared that we'd pick him up and squirt horrible medicine in his mouth. But now he just happily takes his medicine and isn't worried around us.

Update: I can't get the cats to chew these up like treats, probably because If they chew it, they still get the taste of the pill. What I learned though, is that some pills taste so nasty that your cat will vomit after you give it to them with a pill shooter. In that case, you can put the pill inside this stuff and use the pill shooter to make them swallow it. They don't get any taste of their steroid, and don't vomit. It also helps pills go down easier. I have three older cats, and they all need to take medicine and one had stopped taking it with pill pockets. I bought this in desperation too try to avoid using the pill shooter with her. The first time I offered these to her with her pills inside, she practically inhaled them! I was so relieved! It worked for two, maybe three days, now she won't have anything to do with this stuff. After getting such good initial results with her, I tried it for the other two cats, whose reaction was similar to the first one's, except that where they used to grudgingly take their meds in pill pockets, now I have to use the pill shooter on all three. The good news, the stuff really does smell like bacon, it's not unpleasant to handle. And its consistency is sort of like a stiff clay, so your fingers don't feel gross after handling it.
