## Overview

The Jinny Beyer Perfect Piecer is a clear acrylic quilting template designed to help professionals and enthusiasts accurately mark and join 4-, 6-, or 8-sided patterns. Featuring multiple precise angles (45°, 22.5°, 30°, 60°) and perforated dots for seamless quarter-inch seam allowances, it streamlines piecing and reduces errors. Lightweight and compact, it’s an essential tool for anyone serious about flawless quilting and pattern accuracy.

## Description

A clever accessory for quilt piecing—and also for anyone who wishes to draw regular four-, six-, or eight-sided patterns—this clear acrylic template has a base and right angle with additional angled points at 45 degrees, 22.5 degrees, 30 degrees, and 60 degrees. Designed to be used in conjunction with Jinny Beyer's Quiltmaking by Hand but equally useful without the book, the guide is perforated to allow for making dot-to-dot pencil marks and seam allowances

Review: so my accuracy wasn't the greatest - and provided the prompt to break down and ... - This is one of those tools that makes you stop and say "do I really need this?" After all, I had been managing so-so just by measuring a quarter inch from each side and drawing a line, marking a larger dot where the seam lines intersect. It worked, but is time consuming. I will also mention that I was previously using a chalk pencil, so my accuracy wasn't the greatest - and provided the prompt to break down and buy this. I had seen Jinny Beyer using it in her Craftsy class, but I was resisting the urge to buy yet another gadget. After having to tear apart a block for the 4th time due to inset seams not matching, I pulled the plug. With this device, I simply lay it on the appropriate angle and mark the dot, very quickly and accurately. The dots along the edge let you also mark the quarter inch line at intervals to help keep a straight line when hand stitching. The holes are very small, so you would need a mechanical pencil....I opted for another tool, the Sewline chalk mechanical pencils. The small holes force us to use a smaller marking tool, but it also improves accuracy. My inset seams now go together beautifully. There is another benefit to this tool. At one point, I thought it was my stitching or marking that was the problem - it was actually that I cut my diamonds wrong. A little slip with the ruler when cutting is easy to miss, but this tool makes it very easy to lay on the patch and check its angles. The most common 5 or 6 angles used in quilting are on the tool. There is also a dotted line along the edge that you can use to check your scant quarter inch. If you do any type of inset seams or angles in your quilting...or just want better precision on your triangles (who doesn't) - the perfect piecer will definitely save you time and frustration.
Review: Very handy! - Bought this to mark 1/4 inch seams and points on hand piecing. Haven't used it for marking angles or anything, so I'm sure I'm underusing it, but I'm sure I'll learn more as I go.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What do you recommend to make the marks with? A regular mechanical pencil will not work on dark fabrics.**
A: You can use a white marking pencil. I use a mechanical pencil by sewline for which different colored leads can be used. They have a yellow and a white lead.

**Q: what is the size of this tool? There is another listed on Amazon for $16.25 (prime also). Wondered if this one is bigger?**
A: The tools is 4 1/4" at the base of the right triangle and has the inches and the increments of inches marked on it. It is 3 1/2 high at the right angle side. It is 4 1/2 high at the highest point -- the 22.5 degree angle. It is 5 1/2" wide at the widest point -- the 60 degree angle. It has holes so one can mark the point where the seams join (or cross) at all the angles and along the seam stitching lines. As far as I know, this tool is only made in one size, but that could be confirmed by going to the Jinny Beyer web site.

**Q: Is this template clear? In one picture it looks clear, the other looks colored. Does the color interfere with seeing the markings? Thx.**
A: it is a clear template with markings.

I have wanted one of these for ages, why are they so difficult to obtain in the U.K. A most useful addition to my piecing tools.
