A practical, easy-to-understand guide to Balanced Scorecard for busy business leaders The Balanced Scorecard method is an analysis technique designed to translate an organization's mission and vision statement and overall business strategies into specific, quantifiable goals, and to monitor the organization's performance in achieving these goals. Much less technology driven then other analysis approaches, it analyzes an organization's overall performance in four regards: financial analysis, customer service, productivity and internal analysis, and employee growth and satisfaction. Balanced Scorecard Strategy For Dummies breaks down the basics of Balanced Scorecard in simple language with practical, Dummies-style guidance on getting it done. This book covers all the basics of Balanced Scorecard for busy executives and managers-and does it without the high price tag of most professional level Balanced Scorecard guides. Review: BSC - I liked the way the book was written with examples and benchmark . " Very useful and easy to read" Review: Good basic stuff - It gives a good basic understanding and the means to set up a balanced scorecard strategy excelent to read in conjunction with Kaplan and Norton, "The Balanced Scorecard"

Book that we recommend to our customers!
I've checked out several books from "for dummies" cycle and I cannot say that all of them were must-read, but BSC strategies for Dummies is one of the books that we do recommend to our customers. There is one specific things that I like about the book: in the end of each chapter you'll read how to USE all these great ideas in practice. That's making the difference! I'd recommend this book for anyone who want to start using the BSC in practice! You won't find in the book deep theoretical concepts or calculations, but that is not what you need. Focus on practice instead! That's why we recommend this book to our customers at BSC Designer

Not as good as expected
I eagerly waited for the Dummies version of the Balanced Scorecard, after using the model for several years and studying several books on the subject. Unfortunately, I found it badly organized. I would have liked to see a suggested process for developing the scorecard, including who should be involved and at what level in the organization. I also think the authors included information that wasn't directly related to the BSC and is better covered in other resources, such as a one page discussion of customer focus groups that was too short to add any value. I'd like to hear from anyone who has read this book and actually tried to use it to build or improve a scorecard.

Hitting the Jackpot
How can you improve on something that you can't measure? This book provides all the simple answers needed for those of us who place a value on measuring and tracking business performance. It's been a long wait to find an author who can take the mystery out of "Balanced Scorecards". Thank You!

Good Intro Read
Good general overview of the BSC process. As with most Dummies guides, it cuts to the heart of the matter in a very readable format. A good intro read, and probably a "must read" for managers in or implementing a BSC environment.

Way too general
This book is way too general for a professional looking for actionable information. These authors struggled badly to come up with a clear-cut definition of what is a Balanced Scorecard. Unless you have already seen a balanced scorecard, this book is not going to tell you what it is. This problem could easily have been resolved by starting out with a practical example of a balanced scorecard that was successfully used, and then by explaining to the reader why what they see is called a scoredcard in the first place, and why it can be seen as "Balanced." I was left with the impression that the authors used the popular concept of "balanced scorecard" to market a book that is full of broad common-sense management ideas.

Good
Better than the book. Gets to the point where the book seems to be looking for a lot of useless words.
