Leviton Table Top Plug in Lamp Dimmer for Dimmable LED, Halogen and Incandescent Bulbs, TBL03-10E, Black

I purchased two of these and have them hooked up to both of my floor lamps, on each side of the room. They are easy to install and do what they are designed to do. I would recommend them for having greater control over the lighting in your home. You can have the light very bright in the morning/daytime for energy and alertness, and then dim it more in the late afternoon/evening to help with relaxation/sleep. Ironically, the switch on my lamp quit working right as I was about to install these, but I lucked out and it died in the on position, so dimmer works to turn the lamp off and on. Otherwise, it would be stuck in the on postition unless unplugged, but it is no problem since I have the dimmer. It saved my lamp.

Bought this to replace an old dimmer switch that had gone bad. The switch works great. Slides smooth and dims smooth. It doesn't dimmer in steps allowing fine control of your lighting. The switch has a small catch or stop when turned to its lowest setting and with a slight push it shuts off. Makes it nice when you just want the lights low but not off. I would definitely buy this again if needed.

Works amazing. I have it hooked up to my Christmas tree and get to easily adjust the brightness. I can also use it to completely turn off the lights so no more reaching behind the tree. Wire length is perfect and the control is smooth and easy to adjust.

I use it to control the brightness of two desktop articulated flood lamps that I've equipped with dimmable LED "flood" style bulbs. When the dimmer is set at very low levels, the bulbs will not turn on when powered on by a central on/off switch, but this is a minor problem in my usage scenario. This is a typical problem with dimmers and dimmable LED bulbs since a 100W incandescent equivalent is only drawing ~12Watts. The best LED compatible dimmers have a mode switch that enables them to act through their full mechanical range with a low wattage load - this dimmer control does not have that switch, but in my scenario it still works well enough. Ordinarily I want the dimmer set low so that the light is soothing, but then when I need excellent light for whatever project, I can then boost those lights to full power. In my scenario, with ~20W load, the functional mechanical range of the dimmer control is about 3/4 of the full range. With a significantly lower load LED bulb, the functional mechanical range of the dimmer control may be significantly smaller. Leviton does produce wall dimmers that have a mode switch to deal with this issue of LEDs having much lower loads.

Can dim many lights and works great mounted to the wall. The price is right and it is built well. It is compatible with our flicker free LED's and our GE Reveal bulbs. Straightforward and easy to use would recommend.

I bought this at the same time I bought some dimmable LED bulbs. This is rated for three hundred watts. I did not test anywhere near that many. I bought this so I could plug a gang of LED studio lights in and synch the levels where my light meter tells me I should. I tested them on three ten watt LED dimmable bulbs. This worked perfectly for my application. To max out the rating I would have needed to test 30 such bulbs and I doubt I will ever need more than half a dozen in my tiny video studio. If you don't already know, the way this works is you plug it into a normal household 110-120 outlet. Then you plug your power cord for your lamps into this device. I had a three socket fixture with three ten watt LED bulbs installed. I turned on the fixture first then I gradually increased the light level from completely off. I cannot say if it is the function of this device or the bulbs but they did not increase in brightness evenly. However once at full brightness then dimmed down gradually and perfectly. I believe the way this functioned is more due to the design of the bulbs and not the dimmer. I tested this with three ten watt dimmable LED bulbs then three two watt dimmable LED bulbs. I did not test it with any other kind of bulb. I both cases they worked perfectly. Once the light level was set they remained at the same light level as far as the human eye (mine) can detect. I could discern not fluctuation in brightness. This makes this device perfect for controlling the brightness of studio lights. I would imagine if used in a live theater one could use but a handful of these to control house and stage lighting if LED bulbs are employed. You could probably control all the lights in a small theater with two of these

I purchased a table lamp that did not have a dimmer and only had an on/off switch - not hi/lo. For $15, this was the perfect option to give it a dimmer. It took about 30 seconds to install and it works great.

Our pre-lit Christmas tree is extremely bright - to the point that we couldn't see most of the ornaments. This dimmer was the perfect answer!

I have the Lutron brand of the same device and this Leviton brand unit works better with a standard table lamp and LED (dimmable) bulb. The other brand dims between 20%-100% brightness. The Leviton dims between ~5%-100%. FYI neither brand works with the (Kasa) smart bulb I bought. Mine is plugged into a power strip, but if I had to plug it in the wall behind my bed, the plugs would stick out too far.
