Review: Great products. - These things are cheap and bright, just make sure that they are connected to a heat sink of sufficient size. I made a yard light with one. The other one I modified to fit in an old halogen work light. Now it uses 50 watts and throws almost no heat, instead of 500 watts and a face burner.
Review: Lasted 3 weeks. Needs significant cooling. - I tried to use these to retrofit an older hid wall pack. Didn’t work. Lasted 3 weeks running all night every night. I used 1/8” flat bar bolted to the aluminum light fixture housing. The flat bar maxed out at 180f and the heat transfer to the fixture appeared to be significant but I guess not enough.

These things are cheap and bright, just make sure that they are connected to a heat sink of sufficient size. I made a yard light with one. The other one I modified to fit in an old halogen work light. Now it uses 50 watts and throws almost no heat, instead of 500 watts and a face burner.
