Never had this problem with store bought Rayovac. **Q: Is it safe to use alkaline batteries to be be used in fire alarms combo with carbon monoxide detectors?** A: Yes **Q: I need to stalk up on batteries for my babies bassinet. how long do you think the batteries will last? it wont be used 24/7 but alittle periodically** A: Have thought about rechargable? Their voltage is about 0.3 volts less than alkaline, don't last as long, but can be recharge 500 times or more. Get two sets; one set for the device, the second set in the recharging device.
