I hate having nothing but a flap to keep the stuff in an organizer section. Moving from a more traditional briefcase-like bag (a Boyt Harness Heavy-Duty Canvas Briefcase), the Beta's idiosyncratic design took me a while to figure out. But it is well thought-out, and makes sense to me now. Once I'd moved everything over and fiddled a bit to get things where I'd like them, I was startled by how much more usable space there was in the Beta, for all it has very similar dimensions to the Boyt. The shoulder strap is fantastic; comfortable and easily adjusted. The front flap's clasps are sturdy and open without fumbling. The Powerhouse bottom section with organizer bag is a nice touch, and really helps maximize the usable space. External zips are rubberized for water resistance. NICE touch. If I had any complaints, they'd be that I'd like the organizer section to be a little deeper, and for a more structured bag bottom so it would stand up more readily. But honestly, those are very minor items that I worked around in a couple of seconds, and I normally leaned the old bag against something, anyhow, since it was also not very structured. As said, there's plenty of room in there and the bag's bottom will square up with more stuff in it. I've yet to even think about using the expansion zips; it is just that spacious. The lifetime guarantee doesn't hurt, either! Really deserves all five stars. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4" laptop fits easily and the padding is super nice to have *by J***L on January 23, 2015* Wow. After shopping around for a shoulder bag for a laptop, I am blown away. My 15.4" laptop fits easily and the padding is super nice to have. The storage is laid out very well. As the other reviews state, they thought of everything for this pack. Pockets everywhere, sleek design, fits comfortable when full. It's my third Osprey bag, the other two are for the woods.
