They are a nice thick material, but they're made of the wicking-type fabric so they're not too hot to wear when really working up a sweat. I do think they fit a little bit smaller than the size chart suggests. I normally wear a size 16 pants and ordered the XL, which should be a comfortable fit according to the size chart. The leggings are pretty tight however. Luckily, I like a good tight fit for working out, and these definitely provide that.I ordered these leggings in the solid black. They are a good dark black and the material seems high quality. They have a foldover waistband, which is nice. You can wear them as high or low on your waist as you are comfortable. And because they're made of a thick, compression material, they really do a good job of compressing and keeping things nice and tight during working out. I'm overweight and have a lot of flub, and I hate feeling like I'm flopping all over the place during a workout. These leggings prevent that, keeping everything nice and tight so I can focus on running or stretching or whatever I'm doing.Overall, these are great leggings. I would advise that you size up if you don't like a really tight legging. But if you do, order your regular size according to the chart. These are nice and thick, very comfortable, and make a great addition to a workout wardrobe.
