Good Boot
I'm having to spend at least two months in a boot, and am extremely grateful to have found a more comfortable, supportive system. I had two serious ankle surgeries in two years dealing with a badly torn ligament. All this stems from a thirty year-old injury incurred while running long distance in the mountains. I was hurtling down a mountainside one summer when a university physician came jogging up the path pretentiously waving his cross-country ski poles on dry ground. He suddenly jerked his pole to the side and tripped me up, thus causing an extremely serious tear in the ankle; it was never the same. Now, two surgeries out, with the ankle finally beginning to do better, a bicyclist come at me on a walking path; dodging this re-injured the vulnerable ankle with a new tear. It had less "give" anyway. Now, I'm hoping to avoid surgery! I wore Ossur's older model after the first two surgeries: Ossur Air Equalizer Hi Top Walking Boot , which was quite good. Other reviewers said that the tall boot was more supportive than the tempting shorter one. So I thought I'd give this new, updated version a try. It's really good, but for the design flaw with a strap that goes right across the instep. It presses down on the instep and top of the foot the more you inflate the boot. And the range of adjustment for the instep area is limited, given where you have to fit it at the top where the pump is. The half-boot doesn't have this problem, and seems to be an improved, more recent design; even the padding is better. But this tall boot is still much easier to get on/off than the old tall version, lighter, and easier to ambulate in. It doesn't cause the Frankenstein effect of the good old boot, since it's not as heavy or thick-soled. My podiatrist doesn't even use this high-tech model yet. PS: If you've just twisted your ankle, your doc may suggest a boot. I'm not a doctor, but my advice, after serious sprains and 2 surgeries by a highly regarded specialist who just wants to operate a 3rd time (after being clueless when I came in with a sprain on the damaged ankle; he seems to have forgotten how to properly treat injuries to heal them & prevent surgery) is: try at least 2-3 weeks on crutches, with your ankle in a boot or ace-bandages. Then slow rehab. When I think back, it was old-fashioned treatment that worked best: ice, elevation, wrapping, and crutches did the trick. Nowadays, docs just want to cut. Beware!

Yep...the title is accurate.
All true — it’s right there in the title: “comfortable walking boot with compression straps & air pump rocker bottom.” It was easily the most comfortable walking boot I tried during the fitting. An all-around quality and premium item!

Helpful In Addressing Achilles Issue
I purchased this product after my doctor advised I needed to rest my Achilles or would be facing surgery. Orthopedic office tried to fit me in a boot that cost over $300 and I knew I could find one for less. This one fit the bill and cost a fraction of what I would have paid. It was easy to use and fit well. I am a female who wears a size 11M so I got a Medium and it was just right. I felt the inside air pump worked well at stabilizing my ankle in the boot when it was inflated. There was a protective strip of material over the velcro inside the boot that I felt was a bit too short. I noticed that I had scratches on the front of my leg from where the velcro had come in contact with my skin. After using the boot for a few weeks, I noticed the sole was squeaking a bit as I walked. I also noticed that I needed to wear a shoe with a small heel in order to make up for the height of the boot. Finally, after several days of wearing it, it had a foot odor and I had problems cleaning it with the air pump device installed. Sport shoe deodorant spray was useful in addressing this. All and all, it did what it needed to do which was to relieve the daily walking pressure from my foot/achilles and allow it to rest and heal.

Best Boot I've Ever Had - Hands Down!
I've had numerous foot issues over the years, and hated the boots I was forced to deal with. I researched walking boots and had chosen this one and kept it in my cart for several years. I am revising my original review because it took some time to figure it out. THIS IS THE BEST BOOT I HAVE EVER FOUND!!!!!!! The Small size was supposed to fit 5.5 - 8.5 size feet. I wear size 7 shoes and my toes were to the limit of the boot, so if your shoe size is 7.5+ you will want a MEDIUM. If you are not sure about sizing, CALL THE MANUFACTURER for advice. The protective "cover" will appear to be way too long - HOWEVER, it's learning how to position it that will make it work for you. PLEASE NOTE that many medical boots are not returnable, so do your homework!! It may take a little time to get the protective cover positioned correctly, but the large air inflator button location can be adjusted, so be patient to make it work for you. I was originally very frustrated with the boot, but it was "operator error" on my part. I've revised my original review. If you have foot and ankle injuries or issues, this will likely be the best boot to help you heal. IT"S A WINNER. It is comfortable, supportive, and will protect your injured foot.

Cheap inside velcro sole
Well I ordered this since I ordered one 5 years ago. This time around. The inside part is cheap. The velcro doesn't work. I emailed them but they wanted me to return. I can't be without the boot so can't just return. I just wanted the inside replaced. The velcro is off so it doesnt stick. So I have to tape it. Its not worth it. Get it from another retailer.

If you have to wear a boot, this is the one.
This is the 2nd boot I've worn. The first one was a mid high boot and was awful. I dreaded having to walk a step in it because it was flat bottom, gave me sores on my leg and poor design, despite it having a lot of 5 star reviews. This boot is the opposite. As comfortable as I could expect from a boot, it has a good pad on bottom so everyone can't hear you walking through the house, protected toe in the front so you don't pick up dirt and grass in the front of the boot if you had to walk outside, a contoured bottom so it feels more natural walking and plus my Achilles has felt so much better in this boot than the last. If you need a boot, this is the one. No need to continue your search.

Seems like a good quality boot
Not a terrible boot. Was put in the tall one of these at the hospital when I came in with an ankle injury to urgent care. Wasn’t bad but started to become uncomfortable and gave me shin cramps. I kept searching online for a shorter boot and finally found the same tall boot I had in a shorter fit. I also wanted this boot because I was trying to use the scooter with the tall boot it was highly uncomfortable especially since I was going to have to bring my son to a concert. This short boot of the same thing is great. Much more comfortable then the tall one however puts pressure on my foot when I have to stand for a little while

Excellent outer protection... tolerable comfort
This is the 1st boot I bought because I like the outer plastic shell protection and enclosed toe for work. I work in a shop where there's always equipment laying around and alot of hazards to my injured ankle, and also do all my own home, yard and auto maintenance, which there is never any shortage of. It felt good at first and I had no complaints. I wear a men's 8.5 and this boot fits perfectly... I assumed an aching ankle after a while was normal with it being injured. After a day or two I realized all the dirt, oil, grime, grinding dust and other mung that must be on this boot, and I didn't want to come home and prop it up on my couch, my bed, or a clean pillow. So I ordered this 2nd boot ( Air Cam Walker Fracture Cast Boot, Medical / Orthopedic Boot (Medium, Tall) ) just for around the house. Let me tell you, at half the price and looking nowhere near as fancy as this one, the comfort is like night and day. I can't wait to get home and put the other one on... More on that below, back to this boot... This boot seems to put alot of pressure on your shin as soon as you step down, and alot more effort to roll it forward. Kind of like you are always walking up hill. I have to consciously keep my knee slightly bent to accommodate for that, and while tolerable, long hours in this boot are nowhere near as comfortable, I have more of an ache in my ankle, and I cant wait to get out of it. The inflatable air bladder holds air, and no trouble with it leaking, but they are positioned kind of on the back of each ankle bone and seem to have a squeezing effect on my Achilles tendon, which is already sore. I have been dealing with it for any type of work situations due to the added protection and fear of banging my leg or God forbid, the front or back of my ankle with only the thin foam as protection. Also, I find that with my leg resting up on something rigid, like my computer table, the solid back of this one is very nice. The soft backed boot only feels good up on something soft that will conform to its contours, and can have my foot falling asleep sometimes when it's propped up on a hard desk or table too long.. So if you are staying at home or work in a place where there is not a million things to bang your foot on I would wear the other one exclusively, its much more comfortable. If you need all the external protection this one offers, it's tolerable, and much cheaper than the one other walking boot I saw on Amazon that had an outer shell like this one. But I recommend having something else for the end of the day. ***Air Cam Walker Fracture Cast Boot, Medical / Orthopedic Boot (Medium, Tall)*** My OTHER Boot The cam of the sole on the other boot is at a great angle for walking without putting any strain or pressure on my shin or calf and thereby my ankle. The inflatable bladder around the ankle is in a good spot to stabilize my ankle without putting too much pressure anywhere. I'm able to inflate it just right where it kind of puffs up in front of each ankle bone making my ankle feel snug without irritating my pulled tendons. So far, once i have the air pressure set, it stays put without leaking. I was going to order the other boot that looks almost identical, but with the blue air pump button, because it had slightly higher ratings. But this one had 1 day prime shipping so I rolled the dice on it, and I am very glad I did. I would buy this boot again in a heartbeat.
