Will this keep the front of a hat from getting deformed, wavy, or bumpy? I have rigid front hats that I want to keep rigid and in shape after washing

My hats held the form of the bill. I would recommend removing the hats from the cage after wash, setting the hat on top of the cage (bill resting on top of where the bill would be during wash) and then air drying the hat outside for 12-24 hours. Febreeze hat after air dry. I hope this helps

Can I put more than one in the washing machine?

Yes, I put more than one in at a time I just washed them with clothes at the same time to fill the empty space

What if you only have hot water in your dishwasher? Will it ruin the hat?

Probably not but you are taking a chance. I don't have cold water DW (do they actually exist?) so I wash the hat in the regular washer using warm water and gentle cycle.
