If you've never tried one of these strawberry hullers, you're missing out. I live in north county, San Diego. We have some of the sweetest local strawberries that make store-bought taste like dust. Consequently, we buy a lot during the season. Most people cut the tops off. What a waste! This tool will remove the green top and none of the delicious berry. A little twist of the wrist and you have a full strawberry with just a little dent in the top where the stem was. And here's a helpful tip: take your strawberries, plunk them all in a bowl of water with a little vinegar. Swish them around a bit to clean them and then hull. Lay them on layers of towel or paper towel to dry and then place them loosely in a clean jar with a top. They'll keep in the refrigerator for a long time! You're welcome!

This helped a ton when I was making tomato sauce. I'm new to the canning process, but I knew this was something that would make coring and quartering the tomatoes easier. And it was easier; I was able to do a whole box of tomatoes in under an hour. I appreciate the design-- the longer handle helps my hand not fatigue ( I have carpal tunnel) as quick with the repetitive movements. The head seems smaller than I thought it would be, but it does not affect the results.
