Hoberman Glow Expanding Sphere, Glow STEM Sensory Toy, Ages 4+

My 13 year old son asked for this toy after seeing it in a video from his math class. It expands to more than double it's size, glows in the dark, and can fit a 3 year old in it (in case you were wondering!) The box has a pamphlet explaining it's design, giving insight into the designer's experience making it, and provides a few games or ideas for playtime with it. Apparently, you can fixate it and hang it on the ceiling, but we didn't test that out (it would change it from a toy to only for display) as of today. So far, it has lasted through 5 kids of varying rambunctiousness, although I did need to explain that it's a bit delicate to the smaller ones (1, 3, and 7 year old). This sphere looks like a physics class in a box, has amazed even the adults in it's ingenuity, and just plain looks cool.

My son loves it. It was a gift for his birthday. I will be honest, what i paid for it vs how durable it looks, i wouldn't pay that much for it again. It does look like of a child isn't careful, it would break easily. But my son does enjoy it very much.

I bought this for my grandson and he really enjoys playing with it. The first day one of the end caps broke but we were able to glue it back on and it is fully functional now. That is the only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5.

I gave this as a gift to my grandsons (age 8). He loved it. Besides the fun of going from small to large the ends glow in the dark. It was a hit with both he and his younger brother.

Nice but too big for my granddaughter. I exchanged for a smaller one which worked better.
