Perfect to get the job done

This roll of cooking twine is a 10 out of 10 for me. Looks just like what father used and he did own a locker and was a butcher. This holds my chickens and turkeys perfectly and roast beef and crown roast of pork. I like the non color, not bleached white, and had no smell and is perfectly soft enough to not hurt your hands. I have several things I use this for and is very versatile, but this time my spouse is not allowed to move it from the kitchen. We now have a roll in the garage and the basement, but it is like scissors and it is always gone. This time I put it in a tall canning jar and drilled a hole in the top to pull the string out. When cooking I hate touching whole twine and contaminating it. Also, use this to tie scissors to many objects around the house.

There are precious few holders for kitchen string that have cutters and this will do the job just fine. I do wish it was a little prettier and that the string was covered to keep it clean, but at least the holder has the cutter and there is plenty of string. The cutter is sharp so I don't need a lot of force to cut the string which is a good thing, because I use it mainly for a rather unconventional purpose. Each day when I've finished reading the WSJ, I roll each section folded in half into a narrow cylinder and tie it with string so it stays rolled up. These paper 'sticks' go in the fireplace to help light the wood fire to begin with or get the flame going again if it dies down too much. They burn really well--longer than you'd expect. The string I was using was in a clear plastic container with a cutter. The container had melted a bit from having gotten too close to the heat at some point so was sort of misshapen, plus the cutter wasn't sharp and I had to really jerk on the string to cut it. As the string got to running out, I started my search for a replacement and was surprised to discover most kitchen string holders, not only don't have cutters, they are metal so you can't see how much string is left and could run out unexpectedly. There was one cute rooster holder with a cutter but it was huge--almost a foot high, which is way too big for my counter, more like the sort of thing you'd have in a store to tie up parcels, although I don't guess they do that anymore. I may paint this holder since it's just bare wood (although has a nice smooth finish) to give it a bit of flair. Even without flair, it's very functional and that is my top priority. I can get refills when needed and it suits the purpose. If you want a string holder with a cutter, this is about the best you'll find.

I’ve purchased this same butchers twine 3 years in a row. I can’t tell you how well it does to cook with. I’m sure it would be great. I use it for stringing up tomatoes in my garden. I grow about 100 each season. It’s the best for trellising tomatoes that I’ve ever used. Lasts all season, it’s strong, soft and biodegradable. At the end of the season I can just pull the tomatoes with the butchers twine, then compost, put in my green waste or in the burn pile. It’s safe and environmentally friendly. When purchased it’s usually to me in a few hours or next day.

This is a kitchen essential. The twine is the perfect diameter and is very strong. No problems in the oven or smoker. I would buy again but a my age this will probably outlast me.

This is adorable and extremely useful. I am of the mind that anything that I have in my home that is pretty Pretty really has to earn it spot and this has earned a spot. It's decorative and very utilitarian, and it was a modest investment.

I bought this Regency Wraps butcher’s twine to use on a whole pig spit, and it handled the job really well. I’ve only used it the one time, but it was strong and didn’t snap even when I had to tie and secure the whole pig tightly. The twine feels heavy duty and thicker than regular kitchen string, which makes it easy to work with and less likely to fray under tension. Having 500 ft per roll and three rolls in the pack means there’s plenty to work with for big jobs like this, so you’re not constantly running out. The only minor thing is that it comes in a long roll rather than pre‑cut pieces, so you need scissors to cut it to size. Not a big issue, but worth knowing if you were hoping for ready-to-go lengths. Overall, for large roasts or spit-cooked pigs, this twine does exactly what you need. It feels strong, food-safe, and reliable for heavy-duty kitchen or cooking tasks.

String. No home can be without it. With so many varieties which do you choose? Why did I get this one? Simple. I already have one and knew what it was like and how good it was (kitchen and general purpose use). This was for another purpose, I wanted to crochet a string bag. Perfect; no roughness or bits to irritate or scratch my fingers while using.

It has been a good and thick roll of food safe twine, it has never shown any sign of breaking or damage when binding pork shoulder even when it was cooked to 200 degrees internal for pulled pork in my Ronco Rotisserie machine. Totally solid stuff, worth it and it goes a long way being such a big roll!
