Best weld thru I have used!! does not burn off as easy as most, and less splatter when welding!!

Bought this for plug welding sheetmetal, i had to scratch the paint to start the welder but otherwise it did what it was supposed to do.

For plug welded overlapping seams I apply two thin coats to both sides, let dry a half hour, fit the joint, scrape away the primer in the plug weld hole (I use a ground down drill bit of similar size), and then MIG weld with no splatter. I prefer the zinc vs copper version of this product. I find the copper version to produce more splatter and porous welds.

Far, far better than 3M. Better than SEM. POR-15. It's the best stuff I have ever used. Just remember it's not really weld through, it more like weld next to primer. Clean the spot you intend to weld.

It’s expensive, you know why ? Because it’s worth it. Good coverage, survives welding pretty good. I’ve used it on new exhaust pipes and it’s still rust free after years of being used.

Weld through primer It’s does exactly what it says on the .. blah blah blah. Have used this product on a fair few welding projects. I have also used it for protecting bare steel in a process which is euphemistically called ‘cold galvanisation’. It’s not galvanisation but it does protect bare steel very well indeed. I have a circular steel plate that was severely corroded although not structurally. After treating with a good quality rust remover.. and then dried off with MAP gas I sprayed this steel plate with two coats of this weld through primer. It resides in my cold and damp garage. Two and a half years later the paint is still doing it’s job(from inside and outside I would guess) as no rust has appeared anywhere on it. On my second can now. It does last as usually only apply it locally to weld repair areas or individual items.. Definitely would buy again
