The Lovebird: An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet

Really a nice little hardbound book loaded with colored pictures of different types of Lovebirds--really nice and very informative and in great condition--liked it better for under the 2.00 price to the other one I got for a whole lot more.

Very helpful!! Helped me a lot with my own lovebirds. I love it! It has some very helpful tips on anything to do with lovebirds. If you have lovebirds or plan to get some this is definitely a great investment. ;)

Nicely detailed book on raising and training Lovebirds. The author talks about illness, habits, housing, feeding, household toxins/dangers, training, illness, and traveling with your beloved Lovebird. She touches briefly on the history and various types of Lovebirds. The book has 10 chapters divided into 4 parts with 126 pages. Part four - chapter 10 pages 123-126 only talks about the resources listed in the book. It has some pretty photos of Lovebirds. A lot of author opinion is included which I would prefer less of, but not a deal breaker in purchase or enjoyment of the book. I would use this book as a guide and pair it with other good informative Lovebird books, but wouldn't rely solely on this book alone. It is a good book, but shouldn't be used as your only resource.

Much of the information can be found in most general books about birds, but it turns to be a basic informative book if you are a first time lovebird owner.

Very informative, well-written book that definitely helped me a lot. I had just adopted a rescue Lovebird and while I already raise parrots, I needed more information on the best way to care for this specific breed. This book was quite full of all the information I needed, and helped immensely, along with a couple of other books for cross-reference. (You can never learn too much.)

Do not purchase a Lovebird until you read this book! This book is filled with important information. There is so much that I would have been completely ignorant to if I had not purchased this book. It helped my find the right cage, told me about dangerous toys, first aid, different species, etc. This book contains everything, if you only want to buy one book on lovebirds, make it this one. This book talks about things you would never think of, it is truly a wonderful and informative book. You can tell that the author loves lovebirds, and cares for their well-being. I am so impressed with this book, that if I decide to get another bird one day, I will turn to the same collection. I am looking forward to the arrival of my first baby lovebird, and because of this book, I feel confident and at ease that I can provide a safe and loving home for my bird.

A visit to my local library yielded many books about breeding lovebirds, with little focus on the pet owner who wished to keep a single lovebird just as a pet. This book was a lifesaver! It was thorough, as well as fun and simple to read. I am buying the Cockatiel book in the same series for a friend who owns one because this book impressed me so much!
