Very good DVDs.

As a young adolescent who watched The Blue Lagoon (1980) during a time when formal sex education was virtually nonexistent in schools, these films provided a unique and impactful source of understanding about human development, relationships, and natural desires. Directed by Randal Kleiser, this film follows the story of Emmeline (Brooke Shields) and Richard (Christopher Atkins), two young children who are shipwrecked on a deserted tropical island. As they grow up in isolation, the film delicately portrays their transition from childhood to adolescence. Without the influence of societal norms or guidance, Emmeline and Richard navigate their physical and emotional changes organically, discovering their own identities and feelings for each other. They go through the many changes during puberty and eventually discover each other's bodies. The film's breathtaking visuals and tender performances provide a naturalistic and sensitive exploration of human development. Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991), the sequel, continues the narrative with the next generation. Milla Jovovich and Brian Krause star as Lilli and Richard, who are also raised on a deserted island. The film mirrors the themes of the original, depicting the characters' growth and discovery of love and sexuality in a similarly isolated and natural setting. Jovovich's portrayal of Lilli captures the innocence and curiosity of adolescence, making the film a compelling continuation of the exploration of human development. Watching the first film at a time when sex education was not readily available provided a unique educational experience. I am sure the sentiment still resonates for more innocent youth. The Blue Lagoon films offer an unfiltered look at the natural progression of human development, from the innocence of childhood to the complexities of adolescence. They address topics such as physical changes, emotional growth, and the emergence of romantic and sexual feelings in a way that is both organic and visually engaging. If your youngster doesn't have a phone in their hands where they can look up and watch just about everything - then these films will certainly provide an education for anyone on the steps of puberty and adolescence.

Together they are coming of age stories. The second one has a deeper message about good vs evil and the true heart and soul of Europeans.

This two disk set is fabulous! The scenery, the characters and the storylines in both of them are a perfect blend of fantasy, adventure and drama. After becoming young adults, the girls are lovely and the guys are handsome studs. The beautiful, green eyes of Milka Jovovich are almost hypnotic. If you believe in true love, The Blue Lagoon and the Return to the Blue Lagoon are for you; the price is right, you can't go wrong. The sequel picks up right where the first story ends with even more intrigue, drama, action and an interesting ending. Is it unbelievable? Maybe, but so what? I wonder how many of us have fantasized or dreamed about being on a tropical island with someone to love?

I had the Blue Lagoon on tape, but somehow it got lost. I'm glad to find it on DVD. The sequel is good too. Not everybody likes these, but so what. I like a little remembering of youthful romance.

El retorno al lago azul no tiene audio en español, sólo subtitulo. Las dos pelís son cursis pero si disfrutas de la belleza de la fotografía (Brooks y Mila), te lo pasarás bien.

Ich würde es begrüssen, wenn in der Produktebeschreibung klar ersichtlich wäre, dass die DVD in meiner Region nicht ohne Weiteres abgespielt werden kann (ich habe sie mir auf meinem zweiten PC nach der erforderlichen "Umschaltung" gleichwohl ansehen können).
