Great value, headlight is MUCH improved over OEM bulb.
Been using these all last year. They work much better than the headlights my Ram Van came equipped with. Seeing is “night and day” improved! Great upgrade, and the light color is even helps me see more clearly as I drive at night. Installation was straightforward and easy. Every vehicle headlight assembly is a little different, and the only thing with these bulbs in my van was that I had to find a person with littler fingers, but that was easy, and he had no problem pushing the bulb in…

Significant improvement over stock
purchased these bulbs for the high and low beams in my '11 Jetta because I live in a rural area and do a lot of night driving. The difference from stock is spectacular. Noticeably brighter on the road, greater throw, and slightly whiter to look at (not nearly HID white, but better than stock). Do these compare to factory HIDs in projector housings? Well, not exactly. But they are superior to any stock halogen and about are as bright and legal as one can get.Just a few caveats for these bulbs, 1) as with all halogens, wear clean nitrile/latex gloves when installing as any oil off your skin or dirt will greatly reduce their life; don't eat french fries, install the bulbs, then rate them 1 star because they burnt out the next day; and 2) Their burn time as per past experience and Sylvania literature is a fraction of normal halogens, expect to replace these at least once a year. To me, the trade-offs are worth it -- I will give up longevity for greater visibility and safety. If you can't sacrifice longevity and don't think the extra $20 a year is worth seeing better, then look elsewhere. But just note that any halogen bulb that can deliver greater actual performance will have significantly less burn time because the filaments can only handle so much extra power before giving up.UPDATE 1, October 2012: 13 months and 16,000 miles later and the bulbs are still going strong. I had installed Silverstar Ultras in my highs, lows, and fogs in a 2011 VW Jetta, and all 6 remain intact (living in a rural area I usually run with the fog/driving lights on). So take this testament as you will against those that say their bulbs burned out quickly. Also, some manufacturers run higher voltages to the headlights causing these types of high output halogens to burn out fast. From my experience at least, VW doesn't appear to be among them.UPDATE 2, August 2013: My first bulb, a low beam, finally burned out; 23 months/27,000 miles after being installed.

Brighter than my stock halogen low beams in my 328i BMW but expect them to last 12 - 18 months!
What a difference these bulbs made compared to the stock halogen bulbs in my 2014 BMW 328i! They are definitely brighter and whiter than the stock ones. If they last as long (about 10 years), I would be extremely happy... If you have halogens, these seem to be one of the best you can buy.Updated: Only expect these bulbs to last about 12 months. I bought these bulbs on January 2024 and the first bulb failed July 2025 which was 18 months of daily use! Sylvania warranties these bulbs for 12 months or approximately 100 hours and we exceeded that. Unfortunately, this is the trade off for brighter, whiter halogen bulbs. The physics says it will drastically give you a shorter lifespan. I was hoping that LED bulb technology would get better for non projection halogen light assemblies, but they are not ready by the major manufacturers so these are the best you can get as of this review. I decided to give these bulbs another go since my wife and I like them. It took me about 15 minutes to change both low beam head light bulbs giving me one emergency spare should I lose a bulb on the road at night. ALWAYS wear gloves to prevent oil getting on the bulbs and they will hopefully last as long as possible.

The bright light and DOT legal
I have used this for years. I used HID,LEDs but these are street legal for reflector type if head lamps. They don't blind the on coming traffic and have the right Kalven or color of light for all road conditions. I know this for I used them all by being a light freak for 40 years. The big down side the hotter and brighter the bulb the less the life spand. It the package says 1000 hours I never get over 300 at best. But alot of factors play a role in that. Like the temperature outside and how many times the lights turn on. The vibration of the bulb did install it right and did you use your fingers with no clean oil free gloves is your light housing sealed good and the heat vent plugged on and on. But I have a dodge charger with HID light the light is about the same but when I replaced the HID light for one side was 1200 bucks and the other was 1200 bucks. Due to one side will be dimmer than the other if do them in pairs. So I think it's a good deal. For 40 bucks through Amazon sale. Yeah so you mite have to change them out one or two time a year so what. I be street legal and have better light than stock. To me is grate.

Much better than stock
I replaced the high beams of my 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT. After 4 years the bulbs dimmed significantly. Although the Silver Star Ultras have shorter life than stock (2-3ys vs 5) the benefit outweighs any longevity issue. The beam produces a much whiter light.*** update ***Both bulbs went out within one day of each other after 11 months of use. Bulbfacts.com review estimated 1.5 ys (458 hrs). If you calculate the number of hours/day of use over that time, that value is 1.39 hrs/day. If I have to be honest, that is probably accurate since I've taken quite few long nighttime trips plus I leave before work before sunrise and come home in the dark.

An easy way to improve night visability!!!
I have own 2 vehicles and in the older, I replaced the headlights (9006) and the fog lights (893) with SilverStar Bulbs about 4 years ago. I have never had to replace the 9006 bulbs and have only had to replace 1 of the 893 fog bulbs over the course of four years. I just ordered bulbs for my newer car and I hope to have the same excellent performance. I will note that I used gloves to handle the bulbs when I installed them and I also purchased the "grease" to lubricate the connections when I installed the bulbs. These bulbs are not cheap so it is worth installing them correctly. I have read a lot of reviews stating these bulbs have a poor life span. I do not know if proper installation had anything to do with shortening the lifespan of these bulbs, but I believe that proper handling of these bulbs is a must. I would recommend these to everyone looking for improved night viability and I would defiantly buy them again in the future.

DEFECTIVE BULBS? SPEAK UP!
Now that these H7's have been in use for 3 months it is time to write reviewThese were installed to replace some very tired (but still working) lamps that had been in my 07 VW EOS for 2yearsWith the old lamps the headlights were perfectly alignedUpon installation the left headlamp was fine. The right headlamp was very far out of alignment: and I eventually checked to make sure the bulb was aligned properly in the socketAnd it was.I swapped the old working bulb back, in and everything was aligned. One more time, with the new bulb in the right headlamp again, I tried aligning but could not get the adjusters to make up so great a misalignment. It was kind of close so I left it as is.In the mean time the left lamp began to intermittently turn on off tripping my "headlight out" warning light.I checked connections but the problem continued. After a month of on again-off again activity I reinstalled the old lamp.Problem solved! So in summary; one bulb is intermittent & the other suffers from what seems to be poorly aligned filamentOf course by now the 30 day return period is long gone. The conclusion that I have come to is that I have received a" manufacturer's defect" pair of bulbs.A headlight version of the auto industry lemonWhether the seller, iserve, intentionally sells imperfect merchandise I cannot say; and give them the benefit of the doubt and assume notRight now I am squiting as I drive on the old H7sLess light; but NOT DEFECTIVEI hope this review will help any one that thinks the bulbs they were sold defective, to speak up without hesitation

Not a "Whiter brighter Light"
I tried these bulbs on my 2012 MK6 Volkswagen Jetta. The light isn’t white or as bright as LED lights. After using them for a month, I switched to LED lights from Amazon, and the difference is significant. If you're looking for brighter lights, go for LEDs, but make sure to use them only for low beams to avoid blinding oncoming vehicles.

Bright and white.
I’ve used these before on several cars and they’re great. Installed on my motorcycle now. They don’t last as long as OEM, but are much better while they do last. I would definitely say it’s worth it. This seller has them cheaper than local stores and they arrived very fast.

Brighter, Wider.
**2017 Hyundai Tucson**I noticed that the headlight doesn't really appear to be whiter in color. However, I assume that this is because only 20% to 0% to 30% [top, middle, bottom] of it is tinted in blue to recolor the headlight??But the good news is that it is brighter now, and I can see much better while driving in the rain. I don't even need to use my fog lights anymore to navigate through wet and rainy roads. This is what makes me proud. The clarity of the light is amazing too. It illuminates the bushes and surroundings very clearly with its wide beam.I will provide further updates when the time comes, because when I use this product on my previous cars it was dimmed at first and then it got brighter overtime.

Best of the incandescent
I really wanted to get into LED for my 2009 Goldwing, but i've tried too many different LED headlightss and had issues that either they seem bright when you install them, but the pattern is so bad that they are so dim at night that they are dangerous, or they just don't install due to fans and cooling on the back that makes them impossible to stay in place. These may be standard incandescent, but they are the best of the best, very bright, and reasonably white in colour, and most importantly they are 100% OEM replacement work in your vehicle just plug and play (while wearing gloves so you don't touch the glass and ruin them)
