Monteverde Mini Ink Converter, White (31072)

I got this to go with my Schneider Ray cartridge rollerball, which works perfectly with this converter. It doesn't hold that much ink, having a noticable air pocket after filling; but i'm not constantly writing things down,so I can go a while before refilling. I had to order a second one, and the second one was crushed in shipping, but that's because it was not in any sort of protective container, so the side walls are partly fractured and the mouth is oval shaped, but as it's not the fault of the manufacturer I will not deduct a star.

I bought this to use Noodlers Black since the Monteverde cartridges that came the Schrade Gen 2 Tactical Fountain pen were *awful*. Anyway, it isn't a perfect fit but only a 1/4" piece needs to be trimmed off the threaded plastic housing on the back (NOT the syringe portion, just the clear plastic housing) to make it fit. This ink converter is well made, fills smoothly and doesn't seem to burp (if it does, I haven't had it happen to me, anyway). The best part is having access to a whole host of bulletproof inks in different colors.

I don't work for Kaweco. I don't work for Monteverde. I don't own or work in a pen shop. I'm just a pen collector and enthusiast. I have two Black Plastic Kaweco Sport fountain pens that I use often. This converter works well in both. The fit is tight and does not leak. It's also allowed me to flush out the nibs between uses, which I couldn't do before. I'm also very happy that I can now use my favorite ink and color with these pens. The reservoir is the exact size of a cartridge, and fits inside the barrel with the plunger fully extended. What I don't like is that I can't get the reservoir filled completely without making a mess, I don't think it will last very long with frequent use (construction seems cheap), and it's over-priced. But, the design is much better than the Kaweco converter I have that's made for the same pens.

I got this to use in a MOMA aluminum fountain pen. It fits ok in the MOMA pen (it was listed in the regularly purchased tab when I bought the pen), but wiggles around a little bit and makes me worry that it might pop out and leak ink all over my pocket. But, that is an issue with the MOMA pen and Amazon's generation of reccomended produts, NOT an issue with this converter. The convertor works great. It is easy to fill (just twist the back end while dipped in ink) and has great ink flow.

Tiny but easier to refill than a reusable ink cartridge in pens that are too small for a standard international converter. It’s a trade off on ink quantity.

The 2 that I received are NOT International Standard sized! They are unbranded Chinese Standard sized. They do not fit in any of my Monteverde pens.

I bought one of the Bulow X750 Kompass pens and accidentally broke the converter that came with it, so I took a chance on this Monteverde Ink Converter. I've read some reports that this converter is too long for some pens, but I am happy to report it fits perfectly in my pen. It took a little more force to push it into position, but that could just because its new. After writing a couple of pages with the converter installed, I have noticed no problems with ink flow. It works as good as the one that came with the pen.

I'd like to give this another half star, but I can't go all the way to 4 stars. It's okay. I might have not been as critical if not for the fact that the Monteverde pen I bought at the same time came with another ink converter. Upon investigating on the Monteverde web site, I learned they offer three levels of ink converter. The economy model is a pull plunger that would do the job, but completely lacks finesse. This is the mid-range ink converter or the base model. It has a screw mechanism for drawing the plunger in and out. The deluxe ink converter has the same type mechanism. The head of the plunger has two seals rather than one found on the two other converters. Probably most significant, the deluxe model holds about 60% more ink. I measured 0.5 ml as the maximum volume of ink the base model will hold. The deluxe model will hold 0.8 ml. The knurling on the knob for the plunger on the base model is smoother than the deluxe ink converter. I found it slightly more difficult to turn just because my fingertips tend to be dry and slippery. It’s not a big issue, but again, it was something that made the deluxe converter a better choice for me. I've seen a few pens that were too short to hold the longer converter. This one could be a good alternative for those pens. This one is useable and I’ll keep it, but I’ll spend a little more and get the upgrade for future purchases.

A well thought out product by Monteverde. A converter that you screw on to your pen... Gives a bit of reassurance that the converter won't come off. As long as you remember that it is screwed in and that you didn't just use a standard converter... when you are removing it that is.

Great fit on my fountain pen. This ink converter fits like a standard short ink cartridge. Most ink converters do not fit my pen but this one did. Most converters have tips that are too large, this one is sized identical to a standard international short ink cartridge.

It is expensive for its size. It is not even the size of a standard cartridge. Most of these shipments from US/UK in Amazon is disproportionately very high. These external sellers are making fortune. Other thing in terms of the product itself, it does not look like a screw type although you see threads, irrespective of it, a light push is all that is required to move the piston. You can see in the picture, how small it is.
