Can you cut the excess length, or do you just tuck in the excess if you have a smaller waist.

Currently we do not have any official recommended methods for shortening the actual belt. Some users will tuck the end through their belt loops or up and under the belt itself. Some of our customers have also stated that they have successfully shortened the belt by cutting it, and then by using a lighter to melt and seal the ends, however, we have not tested this method for ourselves.

what size waist will this fit? conflicting reports.

I have a size 34 inch waist and it leaves about 10 inches of belt to use!

What is the buckle made of?

Our primary objective in designing our travel products is to ensure that they are as lightweight as they are durable. They should stand up to the rigors of your travels without weighing you down. The Travel Security Belt was no exception to this design. The lightweight buckle was made with hardened plastic for this very purpose.

Would this stand up as a gun belt?

It's not as thick as purpose made gun belt but it works fine for me with a few different styles of holster. Stealth gear, desantis etc.
