Synopsis:Hellboy is back, and he’s on fire. From the pages of Mike Mignola’s seminal work, this action-packed story sees the legendary half-demon superhero (David Harbour, “Stranger Things”) called to the English countryside to battle a trio of rampaging giants. There he discovers The Blood Queen, Nimue (Milla Jovovich, Resident Evil series), a resurrected ancient sorceress thirsting to avenge a past betrayal. Suddenly caught in a clash between the supernatural and the human, Hellboy is now hell-bent on stopping Nimue without triggering the end of the world. Review: Hellboy 4k Ultra-HD Review - Video Quality The Dolby Vision HDR presentation of the movie is great-looking and offers a welcomed upgrade over the Blu-ray The 4K Ultra-HD version has a very strong picture for the most part, with sharp visuals and wonderful colors The 4K transfer to disc gets plucked from an actual 4K master format making the movie an impressive visual experience Audio Quality The Dolby Atmos mix is demo-worthy and offers a highly-engaging half-dome soundstage The surround quality on the disc is very well represented, particularly with the ending themes The audio is excellently mixed, with plenty of powerful bass, crispy clear dialogue, overhead and surround sound Movie Quality The movie itself has received mixed reviews, with some reviewers criticizing the story and lack of energy while others found it fun and enjoyable The texture work in the 4K Ultra-HD version is really impressive The extras included in the 4K Ultra-HD version are generous and offer a deep exploration of the movie's story and comic book mythology Overall, the 4K Ultra-HD version of Hellboy (2019) seems to be a good choice for those who want to enjoy the movie with great video and audio quality. However, the movie itself has received mixed reviews, so it may not be for everyone. The extras included in the 4K Ultra-HD version are generous and offer a deep exploration of the movie's story and comic book mythology. Review: The movie diorama..... - The world is a bizarre place. A place where "the movie diorama" (one of desertcart's top 500 reviewers) calls Hellboy (2019) a "catastrophic mess". To the movie diorama I say: Get real. Hellboy is not nearly as bas as everybody says it is. It is at the very least as good as The Golden Army (the best of the Del Toro Hellboy flicks). It is not catastrophic. It is not a mess. I had a lot of fun watching it. The special effects (make up and CG) were impressive, the characters are faithful to their comic counterparts. It's not a work of great originality, but neither were the Del Toro movies. It's a movie about a wise cracking hero from Hell, so I don't understand what people expect. "Catastrophic mess".... wow, you my friend need a reality check ASAP.

Beware the Blood Queen
A new film for the comic book character Hellboy. Previously played in two movies last decade by Ron Perlman. But this is a reboot for the character on the big screen, so forget all that came before because it doesn't tie into them whatsoever. It draws on some of his comic book appearances for elements of the story here. But that's about as far as it goes adaptation wise. For the uninitiated, Hellboy is a demon pulled out of hell by an occult ritual during world war two, and who has been raised as human since. He works for the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, an organisation that protects the world against such threats. As does Professor Bruttenholm [Ian McShane] who raised him. Hellboy is a tough talking hard fighting individual who can hold his beer and stand up for himself against anyone. But he's always struggled with his demon nature. When a series of events show that someone is trying to resurrect an ancient evil, will he cross to the dark side? Or will he save the light? This promises a different tone to the more fantastical take of the original movies, and it does that with an opening narration that grabs your attention by getting adult. Plus full on gory horror with it. But it doesn't manage to follow up from that adequately. David Harbour - Hopper in the show Stranger Things - is brilliant as Hellboy. It might have seemed that nobody could play the part other than Ron Perlman. But he gets things spot on and really makes the character his own. Milla Jovovich is pretty good as villainess the Blood Queen. Getting the right amount of otherworldliness into the character, and making her downright scary with it. But Ian McShane as the professor just plays himself. Brilliantly, but it's just not a take on the character that clicks. And the narrative is far too episodic, taking Hellboy all over the place for a collection of set pieces. One key scene falls down as it really needs to be done outdoors to get the atmosphere right. But it's obviously studio bound. And the rest of the cast are rather stuck playing one note supporting characters. Added to which, since it starts without much proper introduction to Hellboy, it gets bogged down throwing too much exposition in along the way. It's a coherent edit. it's quite watchable. But it just could be a lot better. It does have an extra scene during the middle of the end credits, and then another right at the end, both there to set up a sequel. Which probably won't happen now as this did not do great box office. A shame. Because the character of Hellboy, and David Harbour as an actor do deserve better. The dvd has the following language and subtitle options: Languages: English. English audio description. Subtitles; English. The dvd begins with several trailers, but these can be skipped via the next button on the dvd remote. Extras: Three deleted scenes. Which can be watched individually or in a row. If the former, they take seven min in totals. One is an extended version of the opening, which makes it better. The other two are ok. Pre-visualisation: three scenes from the film, with the cgi fight scenes shown as rudimentary computer animation instead. Also watchable on their own or in a row, and the former takes six min. As a look at how it's all done, this is worth one watch.

The Hellboy Movie !
Loved this movie, hope there will be another one with this same actor. The authentic feeling was all over this movie, genuine like truth. It was a matter of giving the new actor a chance, the trailer did not give away the plotline but rather tryed to sell the movie. The actress from the zombie movie is lovely as ever and delivers a heart felt impression. That guy i remember from somewhere, mabe a pirate, has a solid performance and is the best father figure i have seen in a long time. Im sure that corpse in the beginning is Anthony Hopkins on the battlefield, but that might just be my imagination because this movie is 5 stats 👍

Highly Entertaining
I loved the original Hellyboy, but I also loved this film. I'd heard bad reiews but I found it highly entertaining. There was a lot of action ,good acting and the special effects were great. I especially loved Stephen Graham as the Hog monster. You can tell his voice a mile off. It's different than the original but David Harbour was really good as Hellyboy. I'd definitely watch it again. So glad I bought the dvd .

MOVIE WAS NOT NEARLY, NOT BY AN ASTRONOMICAL MILE, NOT NEARLY AS GOOD AS THE HELLBOY MOVIES THAT WENT BEFORE IT. LIKE I SAID, I STILL ENJOYED WATCHING IT, BUT WHY ON EARTH DID THEY EVER THINK A NON RON PERLMAN HELLBOY WOULD ATTRACT AUDIENCES?? I WILL NEVER KNOW!!
