Captivating! Hard To Put Down! Life Transforming! Empowering! Killing Kryptonite is an intriguing new book by the amazing author John Bevere. Just like Superman, we as Christians, and the Church, have our Kryptonite, which destroys and steals our strength, just like Kryptonite makes Superman weaker than a mere human! What is this Kryptonite? John Bevere reveals it in this book! This book is hard to put down. First, I was admittedly intrigued by the title. But after reading through the book, the book does not disappoint! It not only reveals our Kryptonite that weakens our Christian walk and destroys and weakens the powerful and amazing and abundant life that Jesus came to give us! John Bevere is an amazing author. I've read many of his works. Some of my favorites are Drawing Near, Driven by Eternity, The Bait of Satan, The Holy Spirit, Fear the Lord, and Extraordinary, the life you're meant to live. Just like his earlier works, John goes deep. And it's apparent that John loves the Lord, and lives life guided in step by the Spirit. He writes in the introduction that he writes all his books with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This book is just an amazing read! It has many wonderful revelations to us as individual Christians and child of God, and to the Church as a whole! This book has 28 chapters in all and more than 300 pages. Its divided into 4 sections, with 7 chapters in each section. The last section is particularly edifying and profitable at a very practical level. The applications is particularly clear and powerful. The message is full of wisdom and urgency especially for our times. John writes that we may be tempted to head straight to the final section, but he recommends reading through the whole book to get the more impact from the last section! And indeed each section leads to the next section and holds the attention of the reader. It just hard to put down! I highly recommend this book ! Its one of the best of Johns books! I also recommend other of John Bevere's books as well. They are all very thought provoking, edifying, and encouraging at the same time and allows the readers the opportunity for deep self examination and to deepen our relationship with God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit!

Great Book, Great Author.

Is this book worth reading? Short answer: DEFINITELY YES!!! Long answer: John Bevere lays out the biblical principals described in this book in a very clear and understandable way and going very deep at the same time. The reader will not be overwhelmed but challenged and encouraged by 28 short chapters readable in 10-15 minutes each. Each chapter is always pointing the reader towards God with prayer suggestions at the end. One can almost take this book as a one month daily devotion. Even though it is more than just a devotion. It is more a book with the potential to experience a personal revival with Jesus. When it became clear to me that personal sin does not only effect your own life but also has a bigger negative influence on the whole body of Christ (locally & globally) and therefore has a bigger negative weight before God (than I thought), it changed my whole perspective on the seriousness of sin! Who should read it? -> Everyone who wants to know what steals your (spiritual) strength. -> Everyone who needs a breakthrough and encounter with God. -> Everyone who wants to get a new, fresh or deeper revelation about sin. -> New believers in Christ that want to get a good foundation and encouragement for their walk in Christ! -> Everyone who loves John Bevere books or wants to get to love them! ;) If you haven't bought this book yet, you are in need of a personal revival and breakthrough? Then you should certainly consider getting this book! It holds the potential to change your life, bring breakthrough and giving you a deep revelation about the effects of sin and how to overcome them.

All of his books are great but this one has been the most challenging, most inspiring, and most beneficial. It shows you where God's finger is pointing in our compromised lives and our misinformed gatherings. John shows you examples in the scripture where intimacy with God and holiness in life engages the power of God, brings boldness in witness, and enables God's people to walk in the amazing authority He has already released to us. Tired of not having the ability to overcome strongholds of sin in your life? Tired of reading about God expressing supernatural power through people's live in the bible but not seeing God work like that through you? Tired of not seeing lives changed in your city much less your neighborhood and home? Do you want people to once again witness the powerful presence of God so lives and circumstances give glory to God? Then read this book to learn not only about the root of the problem but also the solution.

I was honestly wary of reading this book, worrying if it would ever into legalistic territory but the author handles his subject with an authority, passionate and logic that made this easy to digest whilst providing much food for thought. If you are wondering why there is a gap between the Christian experience today and what has been the manifest mirac!es of the Bible, this book explains it well.

This book is awesome. It is not for the faint of heart. This is a call to change the way we think about Christianity. It is for any Christian who seriously wants to take a look at his/her life and make the necessary changes to become a serious Christian. It makes perfect sense why we are not walking in the power of Christ who has set us free. We should be having the same experiences as the early Church, we should be healing the sick, casting out demons, and introducing people to the Savior. Funny thing is, you start talking this way and people start getting uncomfortable. I have to start asking myself why? Is it because we don't believe or could it be actually what John reveals in the book. We are set apart and we are not supposed to look like the rest of the world. Our lives should cause others to be drawn to God, to cause them to find out what they are missing and what we have that makes us different than what the world has to offer.

God is amazing. This book has strengthened my faith and understanding on another level. If you are really wanting to have God as more than your savior but your friend. I highly encourage this book. We are saved by God through his grace which he empowers. God is not rules to just follow, he is showing us how to truly live. His grace corrects our behavior of the world.

It becomes more and more impossible to read this book, put it down and NOT be affected by what was said in it! I read it once and then again with a marker to highlight the choice nuggets of TRUTH and the accurate analogies explaining them. A CREDIBLE witness is preferred to someone simply telling us something incredible (literally “unbelievable”).

Todo líder de iglesia debería leer este libro hoy en día. Actualmente es muy fácil mezclar el concepto bíblico de gracia con el cultural que hemos construido como iglesia "contemporánea". La gracia no solo nos cubre, nos empodera para vencer el pecado. La gracia no es tolerancia al pecado. Este libro muestra los efectos del pecado en nuestra vida y cómo vencer.

I do recommend this book if you are genuinely interested to grow in your Christian spiritual journey. It brings valuable content and confrontations required to any Christian available to be developed. It gonna help you and your brothers and sisters in the body of Christ. John Bewere stellt sich der Herausforderung die Wahrheiten die Gottes Wort allen Zeiten und Generationen zu sagen hat unserer Zeit und Generationen neu ans Herz zu legen. Das ist an manchen Stellen zum Schlucken und am Ende mit einer klaren Aufforderung zum Überprüfen der eigenen Sicht- und Denkweisen verbunden. In einer Zeit, in der alles schwammiger wird und keiner den Mut zur Zivilcourage und zum gegen den Strom schwimmen hat, ein nötiges Buch. Vielleicht das wichtigste Buch was ich in den letzten Jahren gelesen habe. Hoffentlich bald in deutscher Übersetzung zu lesen!
