There are no sounds. No batteries. If you take the back off, it will likely break.

Doe the buzz light year wrist communicator take batteries and what size?

No it does not take batteries. The whole thing was a little bit disappointing (although I should have read more about the product). No sounds, and you have to be coordinated enough to stick the bullets in without going in too far so a younger child would have problems with this toy (and of course it is for a young child).

What sounds does it make?

It doesn’t make any sound. Red and green button shoot the dart, yellow is a pretend button.
