I got these Wiha torx set after seeing som many knife tubers use them. I originally bought a cheaper set, but soon regretted it. So I went with the Wiha. Very solid S2 steel bits, works great even on the smaller T6 screws. I also like the extra Torx holder, and how you can use the case itself for driver, very convenient . All in all really great Torx set. .

These are good but are bad about wearing out quickly

just like the title says, you gotta smarter than the tool your working with and it appears some of these people who have left reviews arent smart enough to use a torx bit. i dont know what some of these people are doing with this set but i imagine they must be doing something wrong. I dont have a lot of experience using this set but what i have expereinced is impressive. i took the smallest torx bit i have a screw for, T6, and cranked down on it harder than anyone should ever use a T6 bit. not even a sign a wear to the naked eye. who cares if it doesnt say "made in Germany", who cares if it doesnt have markings for the bit sizes, write your own (thats what i did). this set is pretty impressive, especially is you have a need for smaller torx. the fact the bit extension goes into the case acting as a handle is icing on the cake. like i said i dont have a lot of experience using this set so i suppose after a ton of uses it could crap out but by then you got your moneys worth. i can almost hear you saying but what it it ruins something expensive if it fails. well to that i say, a striped torx head bolt/screw is one of the easiest striped things to get out.

The case is very well designed and sturdy. The bits are held in well and shouldn't fall out under normal use. The detent on the case opening is such that the case won't fly open, and if you hold it right, you can still pull it out with ease. Great for a field kit for those reasons. It has all the bits I'd every really need for working on small tools like pocket knives and comes in an easily accessible and portable from factor. The bits themselves are also very impressive. I've bent 3 or 4 T8 bits from other manufactureres, but not this one! They're impressively solid. Hard but not brittle.

If you are thinking of buying this torx set so you can take apart your pocket knife for maintenance, then you have selected the right set. Some of the cheaper torx sets are off spec, especially on the smaller T5 and T6 bits. One cheap T6 bit, I have since thrown away, would actually rotate freely in the T6 screw it was supposed to fit. When I first started to use this Wiha set, I thought they forgot to send me the bit handle. Then I realized the box itself, not only stores the bits and the extender, it also functions as the handle. The only downside to using the box as the bit handle is that the box is so large, you can easily put TOO MUCH torque on a screw. If you use the box as the bit handle, don't over tighten the screws you are installing. UPDATE: I found something that is annoying, but is easy to fix. The magnetic bit holder on the extender is TOO strong. The small bit are very difficult to remove from the extender. I fixed this by sliding a very small wad of paper down on top of the magnet. Now the bits are held maybe 1/32 of an inch away from the magnet and can be easily removed.

The holder is especially useful, as an unexpected benefit. It comes with a magnetic bit holder/extender that can be slotted into the end of the case to be used as a makeshift driver. The case is relatively weak plastic so I wouldn't want to really apply a lot of torque with it, but you generally don't need to in a situation where you wouldn't already have a better driver handy. It's not a very ergonomic solution but it's helpful for those times when you just need to grab a torx bit for something really quick, prevents you from having to locate a driver. Very compact, can easily fit in a jeans pocket. Only downside is that I got this because I've heard good things about Wiha products and I needed a (apparently) mega-tough T6 bit to take apart some pocket knives I got and the screws in it have stripped every driver I've tried on it. These were no different, immediately stripped out the T6. I've since given up on trying to get it apart, but I still use the rest of this set regularly and it's great. Really like the dual-purpose case for quick jobs like tightening loose bolts on cheap furniture, or popping open a Nest doorbell. Throw the box into your pocket and good to go.

The Wiha Torx Bit set serves its purpose and very versatile!
