The name has haunted my sleep and made my awake hours uneasy for as long as I can remember. Other children whisper that he is part man and part animal -- wild and blood-thirsty. But I know Weasel is real: a man, an Indian fighter the government sent to drive off the Indians -- to "remove them." Weasel has his own ideas about removal... Now that the Shawnees are dead or have left, Weasel has turned on the settlers. Like his namesake, the weasel, he hunts by night and sleeps by day, and he kills not because he is hungry, but for the sport of it...I know what I have to do. Weasel is out there. He could come here and hurt us. Maybe Pa can wait for the day when we'll have the law to take care of men like Weasel. But I can't... Review: Blast from the past - The book is just as I remember from my childhood. Glad I bought it for my son. Review: Kids love it. - My kids love this book. It is a school list book to read and it tells about frontier life with the Indians. Full of characters and easy read for the kids. Mind read it to me every night until done and I enjoyed listen to the story.A big fan of Allen Eckart and this book fits in many ways for school agers.

Looking for a book with suspense, fear, and adventure lurking in every corner? Well, then, you should read Weasel! My opinion about Weasel is that it's a good book, but not the best I've read. Weasel is about two children, Nathan and Molly, on a search for their father when one day, he's not home. The two siblings encounter many frightful events on the path to their father, such as Indians and the vicious, revolting guy, Weasel. When they finally find their father, he's seriously wounded by Weasel and needs help. Lots of it. One night, Nathan goes looking for his animals, but they're nowhere to be found, at least not alive. Nathan finally realizes that Weasel killed all of them. Who else has Weasel killed? Find out in Weasel!

Weasel
I read this book every year for 11 years to my fifth grade students . The boys as well as the girls loved the story about territorial growth and Indian relationships. The students hung on every word. And now 15 years later, when I see my grown students, they still talk about this story.

Weasel
I first read this book in Elementary school (sometime between 3rd and 5th grade). The story stuck with me so much throughout the years that I had to own a copy. Even in adulthood the story still sticks with me for some reason.

and I loved it. Some may consider it a little dark ...
I remember reading this book when I was younger, and I loved it. Some may consider it a little dark for its target audience; but then again, I don't support the infantilizing of America.

Dose of reality
I think this book would really give kids some things to think about. Things are what they are and life goes on.
