It is very compact and sturdy. And the price is very good. I keep one in my vehicle in case of a winter emergency that requires a heat source. And I keep them in emergency kits. Any suggestions?** A: Don't use isopropyl. Isopropyl from a drug store ranges from 68% to 91% alcohol. Methyl alcohol from a hardware store usually starts around 98% but because it's hygroscopic in nature, pulls water vapor out of the air down to 95%. It burns cleaner and hotter. If you can't find it by the gallon in the paint section of a hardware store, go to an automotive store and buy "HEET" which is used as an antifreeze in fuel lines. **Q: The picture shows the stove with the pot stand. Does anyone know if it comes with it?** A: The Outad and Alocs brands both have small pot stands included for less price. The only problem with both is, per other reviews, the simmer ring cannot be adjusted very far when the burner is inside the pot holder. I've been looking at all the varieties of stands on Amazon and none seem perfect. All have pros and cons. To me the Likida (spelling?), looked like it might (big might??) Work ok but some reviews of the one meant for alcohol spirit burners such as these said parts were not manufactured well and they had to DIY correct the flaws. I personally don't want to mess with something that should work out of the box. The Likida one meant for woodburning seemed ok or the Alocs anodized aluminum stand with covered pot (kit with several parts) actually looked ok except the stove rested 2 to 3 inches below the pot. Reviews seem to indicate (but not sure) that 1-2 inches was optimal for cooking. There is also the titanium Bushbox that looks excellent IF you have an extra $110 floating in your bank account. Using denatured alcohol (soon HEET).** A: An inch is good for boiling water. For cooking about four inches helps to control the heat better. This is an awesome stove. I got this as an alternative for cooking while car camping and for a possible future kayak camping trip yet this saved my butt recently when I was tent camping and the temps dropped about 20 degrees below what was expected over night. I awoke to temps in the high 20's! My butane was too cold to use and wouldn't fire up in my portable stove but this little guy saved me by quickly heating my water for coffee. Once I have coffee in the morning I can function again! So very small and handy. I used 91% isopropyl in mine and it worked great. The fire flares up higher than anticipated and did leave some sooty marks on my pots but that quickly cleaned up later and who cares as I got my coffee in very short order! Can't wait to use this again next week camping and I"ll be using it for more than coffee this time. The flow/damper cover with handle makes this mini stand out from others to me!
