Like most Tamiya kits, it’s got good fit and acceptable detail, and the solution to getting the landing gear on at the right rake and angle is faultless, but you don’t get an option for dropped flaps and slats as commonly seen on the ground. The Eduard kits are almost as easy to build, perhaps more detailed, certainly the Profipac boxings are, and contain a whole lot of extra parts. I swapped the canopy and other details left over from a Finnish G-2 to make this a late Finnish G-6.

Like everything Tamiya produces, this kit is top quality and the engineering choices the designers made are ingenious. Only complaint is that I wish they'd have provided more than two markings options. The markings shown in the box cover art are so common that IMHO they've become cliche.

This is the best-fitting kit I have ever built - and I've built a lot of kits since 1957! The parts all fit well, were accurately formed and tooled, and the kit went together very smoothly. So . . . from now on, barring a major reorganization of Tamiya, Tamiya is my "kit maker of choice" in any scale! However, due to the small parts, it is my opinion that this kit is not for young beginners or those with a sparse tool kit.

All seems crisp mouldings , sharp decals, to compliment 109 collection I am trying to assemble. At £18 though, I feel the instructions should be in colour as airfix ones are. Yet to make.
