I got the device for four cats who are not hand tame, so that they would be able to groom themselves more efficiently and enjoy the pleasant scratching sensation. They haven't had it long, so are still getting used to it. I have not observed them rubbing against the spiny parts yet, but they all like to walk through it and work their claws on the mat, so it's only a matter of time before they discover the full benefits. The base is not heavy, but is solid enough for my cats and the arch was easy to put together.

My 18 month old Maine Coon kitten destroys groomers and toys. But not this! It's sturdy when placed on carpet or a rug. After spraying some catnip oil on the plastic bristles, he lovingly grooms himself. I have one extremely happy kitty.

As soon as I put it together Marley was walking back and forth under it. She loves to rub her face against the sides. She’s knocked it over several times but I think that’s more because she’s a wild child. lol

My cat run through it in a second 😁😁😁, he loved it.

It's sturdy but cats don't like it.
