HWI Gear Next Generation Knee Pad, Black

As Good in Combat as They are on a Construction Site!
I've had these knee pads for a few years, wearing them daily while working construction, and they've held up extremely well! They're really comfortable, too. I'm also an Army combat veteran and, man, I would've LOVED to have worn these instead of the awful Army-issued knee pads. Buy them. Wear them. You'll love them.

They last forever!
This is my second pair. I will post pictures later, but my old pair are JACKED UP! The shells are cracked and worn down. The straps are hanging on by a thread. Here's the thing...they are still holding. I am a retired Infantryman that now works on heavy equipment. These pads take far more abuse than they would in a tactical setting. Unless you ruck march on your knees - you don't work them as hard as I do. There isn't much of my knees, so these are a lifesaver. The only flaw-ish is the pointiness of the shell. It feels a little weird, but they flatten out a bit over time.Bottom line is this is not my last pair. They work for me.

Surprisingly comfortable and effective
I ordered the coyote tan pair earlier this year and they are still going strong. The material is high-quality, they're lightweight and that additional gel in the inside of the knee pad definitely helps when you hit the ground with your knees providing extra cushion. They don't slip down your leg either when you're walking and I almost forget that I actually have them on so they're quite comfortable if you get your adjustment with the straps set up good for yourself. I have to give a 5-star across-the-board for these and I also just ordered the black pair.

Good pads, but straps are short in length
First of all, these are good pads. Very good protection for the front and side kneecap, which is what I wanted. Also easy putting on/off.However the strap is too short. I'm 6'2 with long thin legs, and even with the straps at max length they are tight. I realize they might stretch some over time so I will keep for a while because otherwise they are a good pair of pads.

The two straps will tend to ride towards the middle of the back of the knee and can become annoying on a long call out
I use these knee pads for SWAT call outs and occasional training. They are solid and the straps have held up. The buckles click in secure and have never came undone. The two straps will tend to ride towards the middle of the back of the knee and can become annoying on a long call out, but a minor adjustment fixes that. Even when the straps start to migrate towards each other, the knee pad stays put on the front.

Very high quality.
I used these for quite a few hours and the overall quality is excellent. The straps are easy to adjust and very secure with the release hook. Good cushion for protection. I use on hard metal surface and concrete. The raised center is a bit odd. It will move out of place sometimes which I don't like. I wish they had the exact same product without the raised center. I assume it was made for use on soil. I work part time under wing at an airline which is very different than cross country use. Still happy with purchase.

These are very easy to put on and take off
These are very easy to put on and take off, but provide plenty of protection! The bands are comfortable, the padding works well, and it does not dig into your leg like some other pads can. Highly suggested!

Narrow and hard to stay balanced
Very narrow width. Largest size barely fit 200lb man but look more like elbow pads then knee pads. Have a large "potrusion" on front that others have mentioned. Makes it nearly impossible the stay balanced on your knees while kneeling. Would be better for a small adult or child. Padding seems to be good quality .

Really good on the field
Pros:- The padding is comfortable- Plastic is malleable in order to conform to the bending of the joint while hard enough to sustain impact from sudden kneeling or diving- Tested for a few hours kneeling and couldn't feel the gravel below me (total weight of 250 lbs with gear on)- Elastic wide enough to not bundle into a rope from constant moving and digging into the skinCons:- Found that the hooking on the straps to the pad itself comes off easily, could have made it clip a little more securely (does not come off on its own when firmly fastened)Overall a great product. Only had it for a day and it's been great.

Great purchase
Great knee pads for the price, they are rugged, but most of all they are compact and non intrusive. You hardly know your wearing them but they protect well and stay in place.

Three Stars
Comfortable and fits. but the velcro part not really durable and strange enough.

Five Stars
Nice and small and fit really well. Seems like good protection without all the bulk
