Gripit Complete Curtain & Bling Fixing Kit - Includes Drill Bit - Supports Heavy Loads on Plasterboard Walls Up To 71kg

Review: Just the job - Had a mirror and lightweight shelf to put up on a dot and dab wall with barely any clearance from the block wall behind. Other plasterboard plugs would have needed more depth, indeed I had already tried and failed with the metal self-tapping type. I have also used the Corefix fittings for some much heavier things to get right into the block work and found them excellent, but seemed overkill for this smaller job so I gave these a whirl instead. They have done the job nicely and were very easy to fit. Feel solid and screw tightened up nicely. Only downside would be if the object you are putting up does not actually hide the fitting once in place as they are quite wide, nearly 2cm, and brightly coloured. On the flip side though, because of their width it meant the hole I'd made with my initial botched plug could be reused by drilling it wider to fit this new fixing in the same (perfectly positioned) spot. Would buy again.
Review: Best plasterboard fixing kit I've used - I have been struggling with putting up a floating shelf in the utility room, using various rawl plugs without success. Tried the metal self tapping rawl plugs most recently and although they kind of worked they chewed up the plasterboard and over the past month the fixings have become loose and the shelf was unsafe. I saw people had used these to mount TV brackets and so I though I'd give them a go as a last resort, and I'm so glad I did. These are the lowest spec in terms of load weight and seemed overkill for what I needed but they work like a dream. Bit daunting having to drill a 15mm hole, with the provided drill bit, but I just drilled through the holes that had already been made and it wasn't much bigger to be fair. Tapped in with a hammer, gentle twist with a screwdriver and job done, snug fit. One the shelf was screwed into it the fixings pull tight and now the shelf is going nowhere. Although more expensive than most fittings these are well worth the cost as they are easy to install, provide strong hold and support, and can be removed and used again if required. My new go to plasterboard fixings!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ideal fixing for handing up blinds in a new build house
*by J***Y on 22 January 2020*

I tried all sorts to hang up some blind that I bought off blinds2go. I ended up making massive holes in the plaster board above my windows to try fit the blinds. Andeverytime I was drilling and trying to use the normal raw plugs included, they kept fallingbout and was not holding at all, and when I was drilling it sounded like I was hitting something metal. I later learned that there is a metal support beam above the window so my options was to either use a metal bit and drill the support beam to get a fixing for the blinds. The problem was metal drill bits was more expensive and I did not want to make any more mess. I ended up trying these out because they was way cheaper then buying metal drill bit. The fixings took a little getting used to but supported the blinds quite well. Because I live in a new build its difficult to get a strong fixing and have used snap toggle bolts in the past to hand a tv. I think these are a better option as they usually work out cheaper and once you know how they work they are not too hard to use.
