It uses the same controller that every other NVMe to USB adapter does. I installed a 512GB Inland Professional NVMe SSD which is just a rebranded Phison E12. It works well and the speed is great.Only complaint is in the build quality. The other enclosure that I bought (conventional enclosure with removable cable) just feels better in the hand weight wise and doesn't make any noise, where as this retractable USB enclosure rattles when moved.
