Kitvision Observer 1080p with GPS & WIFI

Very nice unit. Have used it daily for months now. Having previously had a top brand, which failed. Then a very cheap brand, which i would not recommend. This Kitvision unit has GPS, important, and a good lens giving clear videos. I would say its very good for the price.

Really cheap but fantastic. Fitted to the hardwired connection from a previous camera and works perfectly, the motion detection is really good as well.

Just opened the box and read all the instructions. My heart sinks when I have to deal with such matters. This doesn't work without a Micro SD card and I looked everywhere for one in the package but this is NOT supplied. Why is this not highlighted anywhere? I would have bought one at the same time.

The camera itself is good enough for the job intended but as with so many items, the plastic used is of poor quality so after 15 months the catch which tightens the rubber sucker (the attachment to the screen) snapped. Nothing it seems is built to last.

Some of the settings seem to be in direct competition. For instance, having movement detection on with auto power off, seems like a good idea, however in low light/night, the camera doesn't sense movement, even when driving. A way around this is to turn the movement sensing off, but that renders the auto power off obsolete, as the camera is constantly recording. That also means that if you forget to unplug it from power it will keep recording and drain the battery.

Bought from Amazon Warehouse at a reduced price and I am pleased to report that the Dash-Cam returns an excellent picture quality GPS is not brilliant but records speed accurately compared to the cars speedometer Time reverts from BST set up in camera to GMT time whilst in use (not a major problem) The Dash-Cam is easy to remove from the window mount for security purposes or to plug into the lap top with a usb cable (available from Amazon etc.) or to read the memory card via a reader - Downside compared to next base I have not found an app etc to track my travels on. 5* star value

It looks to be great value with loads of features added. The original one I bought kept turning itself off and on again every 20 seconds. With an increasingly annoying sound each time. And even when it was not doing that, frequently I would realise that it had stopped recording. I returned it, and the replacement did exactly the same thing. There is no customer support as the company does not have a website. Avoid.

A friend just purchased the latest garmin for £80, So I thought what can the difference be with a cheaper model if it captures clear enough video then what else do you need!!! So Challenge was set!! I found this dash cam for £17 and thought for features Ill give it a go, well it works fine, for £17 it works great, The footage is clear enough may not be the best but I wouldn't expect the best, the GPS records position and speed on the video capture can be disabled, the wifi can be enabled to adjust settings and download captures but this is slow I would just take the card out if you need and footage, all files are just saved in chunks which you can set so for example you can record 3/5/10mins then it starts the next file and so on until the card is full then cylces back over the older files in order keeping the most recent footage. I purchased 32GB Sandisk A1 Cards V30 Extreme £10, but I tried Sandisk A1 Ultra Card £6 worked fine. 3mins default quality is 300mb file. Camera was so at £17 I went back and purchased another for our other car. If it were closer to the £70 of the more popular brands maybe I would try those, but for £17 there's no competition Hope this helps.
