Aquarium Filter Sponge Filter Moving Bed Media Filter Fluidised Bed Filter (40 Gallon)

I was looking at the Ziss filters and this is just as good. Sponge is pretty course so it doesn't clog easily, perfect for this type of biological filtration. Media flows well after a few days of use with very little air. Just make sure to rinse the media out as there are a few tiny pieces of plastic I assume are from manufacture, didn't fancy them floating about in my tank.

Looks good in the tank with the green colour and the bits moving around I don't know if it's any good as I took it out after first night as the bubbles coming out the top are loud, I live a bungalow and we don't shut the doors and I can hear it from the bedroom might be ok down stairs but don't think the fish will like it

Does a great job a bio filtration & I enjoy looking at it working in the tank, kinda like an aquarium lava lamp. Takes a couple days for the medium to properly fluidize but it doesnt take much air to get it going, can easily be run on a small usb air pump.

Returned because very noisy and quite a lot of the plastic bits ended up floating around tank, no doubt it does the job intended but not for me

This is the second one of these I've purchased,1st one lasting over 12 months. Only thing letting this down is the rubber suckers fixing it to the glass. Apart from that the 1st one was working fine. The sponge filter does not clogg up easily. The airstone was still kicking out plenty of bubbles. Just the lack of suction was my reason for getting a new one. With the media taking a good 6 months to mature my new filter is benefiting from good mature media from day one. Very good at keeping nitrates low. If you do get one run in a well cycled tank for at least 6 months before using as a stand alone filter. This is to help with your tank at first not a stand alone from day 1. Just my advice from my experiences.

Excellent product does the job. I just wanted some extra bio filtration for my baby krib tank. Have previously made one but this is a lot less faff and reasonable price.

Cheap rubbish, got this filter running on a interpet ap2 air pump 210 lph does not seem enough air or the air stone is not big enough. Not much media and the sponge in the bottom is too fine imo. Its also very loud bubbles chugging out. Buy the ziss filter seems better quality and no air stone to clogg up.

Used in conjunction with fluval u4 filter, this holds more media that the U4 and runs from an air pump. Worth the price to help with filtration and beneficial bacteria growth.
