Very frustrated with Amazon. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally - no more cat poop in my garden. *by M***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 April 2015* Bought two of these as a last resort as I had heard differing opinions on whether they worked or not. Installed them at each corner of the garden, turned in to take advantage of the 110 degree detection angle, set the sensitivity to around 3, the frequency to 5 (the lights only flash at a setting higher than position 4, and position 5 sweeps the frequency of the sound) and waited...The next day I popped out to have a look and after discovering fresh poop I was a little disheartened, but slowly over the next month and a half the frequency dropped and my garden has now been poop free for a couple of weeks.With regards to battery life - after an initial full usb charge the solar panels kept the batteries topped up for 6 weeks or so, even with the terrible weather, so I'm quite impressed ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective and reliable *by D***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 May 2016* After trying various devices to scare cats, I settled on these as they seem the most reliable and efficient. I've had problems with cats using my garden as a toilet which is made even worse when my dogs take an interest in the poop. Presumably the fish flavoured cat food they eat smells just the same when it comes out the other end and it's not something you want your dogs or kids near. I don't bother charging these using the supplied usb cable. It takes too long, so instead I use my Duracell branded AA rechargeable battery charger. Using a mini cross head screw driver you can take the door off the battery compartment and you'll find three AA rechargeable batteries rated at 800mAh. They take two to three hours to fully charge and then the solar panel located on the top of the device will keep the battery topped up through the summer as long as it gets plenty of sunlight. They won't last so long if you keep them in a heavily shaded spot.These really do work and don't so much scare cats away, but disrupts their otherwise tranquil plod through your garden. They also have a good range as detailed in the description. Cats often have a favourite route to take and favourite places to poop. So having short burst of a strobe type light together with audible frequencies (that I can barely hear but cats, foxes and dogs can), seems to do the trick. They tend to alter their route and hopefully, as in my case, the nasty little poop deposits go away.I have two small dogs who jumped a little when they first saw/heard these repellers, but quite quickly learned to ignore them. They don't take much notice so I wouldn't worry if you have dogs.Tips:1) I found number 5 the most effective setting (random noise frequencies).2) These take any AA rechargeable batteries and the solar panel will not recharge them during the darker winter months. Buy some higher rated rechargeable batteries (2400mAh for example). These should last several weeks if not longer in the winter and you can just recharge them when they die.
