Stopped working
The pump worked fine for the first set of batteries. When inserted fresh batteries would not pump. Checked batteries and wiring with a test meter. Motor appears to have burned out.

Requires Modification!!!
Just like all the other reviews this is poorly made. It runs off a 4vdc battery and motor with poor contacts. So if it doesn’t start working at first wiggle the wires and batteries. I use this to drain my dingy and paddle boats and off 4vdc (3 C Cells in Series) it takes about 15-20 minutes to drain, not bad when you can get it to work. However I decided to remove the 3 C Cell battery pack and install a 3cell lipo 1300mAh 11.1vdc battery. Wow that thing pumped out water like a garden hose and drained it now within 5 minutes flat. However the motor was not rated for that voltage and nearly burned up after draining my boat. Good news is if you have some skills and can solder and know a little about electricity you can easily upgrade this thing with a $7.00 12vdc motor sold on Amazon ( AUTOTOOLHOME 6-12V Mini DC Motor... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M58POHF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share ). The spec sheet says it can handle up to 16vdc. Note there’s no indication on what tab should be wired with the negative so the pump spins in the right direction. Wire the side with the red mark with the white ground wire that should get your motor spinning in the right direction. Also note make sure you have some gasket sealer too. This doesn’t not come water tight even though it’s supposed to be. Good luck and I love this thing now that it is upgraded.

Not worth the cost
Good price but seems to drain batteries fast and has a tendency to clog easily and stop working.

Looks old corroded terminals, rusted motor
Very disappointed I an returning and seeking replacement. I hope this is just a slip up. I will be back to report on the replacement. very shoddy quality control. Amazon's returns worked very great. Just drop off to UPS store.. I just got the replacement and this one looks absolutely new and unused like the first one should have, Hopefully it works as expected. But amazon/supplier made good so far. I left the one star so maybe others can reference and be aware if this happens again. UPDATE: I always test before I go kayaking which is what I have the pump for. Well it worked then it failed the next day.. turned out it was the switch. What a cheap switch!!!! Ok I bought a real switch sealed the old hole and once again working. I doubt the old switch costs a nickel to make. I just would like to find a better battery operated pump.

Pumps water great!
This pump pumped more water than ever would have believed. The motor and vattery compartment seems well sealed. I opened it up to dry itnout but it was dry. I also removed the weighted bottom plate, as suggested in the owners manual to allow the pump to float, and I don't submerge it. It pumps great. I used it on a boat cover that had a winters worth of tree stuff in that nasty water. I would wipe the leaves from the intake screen but never once did this little pump stop pumping.

Power switch failed immediately
The power switch failed immediately. It's a good pump otherwise... I have used these for the past several years to bail my small boat. I replaced the switch with https://amazon.com/gp/product/B01AWR6NCY/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (Core Tools CT126-LS-B) and have had no trouble since. If you purchase this you should expect to have to replace the switch (which will take a small bit of soldering)

Poor Quality
The pump arrived with the hose all kinked. Loading the batteries was a challenge and I had to reform the springs in the battery compartment. Great idea, poor quality! I may return and replace with the Attwood WaterBuster. Disappointed!

Worked great...once.
Don't buy...piece of junk. Unlike many we did get a brand new pump and it worked great the first time we used it. However, that was it for this piece of ^%$&. Unfortunately we just assumed that it would continue working and the return window passed so we're stuck with what is now garbage fill. Even bought new D batteries which don't fit anything else we own. Gah!
