Esther Perel 2 book set ( Mating in Captivity & The State Of Affairs )

I just finished reading the first book. I am going to have to read it again, and study it. There is so much in this book, but let me say this, I’ve learned more about myself and my relationship by reading this than I have in the last 10 years. There are no answers, no quick fixes, instead there are thought provoking ideas that start to make you analyze your own behavior and ask why you do what you do. I would highly recommend this book.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said?! Mating in captivity is an incredible book- I’m obsessed. I’ve recommended it to everyone I know. Perel should put me on the payroll at this point I’ve told strangers about it in airports and on planes when I’m holding it. If you are someone in a relationship/been in a relationship/going to be in one or knows someone who has been in one, it’s more than worth the read. If for no other reason, you learn so much about communication. It’s not just for lovers!

These two books offer some great advice for keeping our relationships vital and alive!

Esther Peter is brilliant. Both of these books are critically important. As a mental health therapist and a woman recovering from betrayal, The State of Affairs resonated so strongly with me. She sheds light on so many important aspects of infidelity and relationships.

Very informative and a easy read. The book is small but very impactful.

This is a good book for straight people who are coping with infidelity. Not so good for people looking to explore open relationships.

I have not read all of both books yet, but I have gained understanding through what I have read. I plan to finish them both very soon.

Esther is just so insightful. I love her podcast and she writes how she speaks. She’s eloquent and methodical when she talks. She’s the best friend we all need! If you’re married, read these!

She is very insightful And extremely useful if you are finding difficulties in your relationship.

I'm obsessed with Esther Perel's ted talks and was looking forward to exploring her philosophy. These books are just amazing, her writing is powerful and effective. I can't recommend these books enough.

Interesting books, worth a read

I like these books as they look at human relationships from a non-traditional angle and might just save marriages!
