AuraSound AST-2B-4 Pro Bass Shaker Tactile Transducer

These are nothing short of awesome! I have two subs in my home theatre setup, driving at 800 and 1500 watts, and can play down to around 25 Hz, 28 Hz with decent level, so I'm not lacking for bass or punch. However adding these gives an amazing tactile kick, adding depth to the system and completing the experience. Basic frequency testing shows they shake from about 48 Hz all the way down to about 28 Hz, which perfectly compliments my subs. I've experienced no bottoming out or any kind of distorted shake even at levels that are more than what I would think most people would enjoy. They handle hard kicks from explosions and soft transient response from music as well. They peak in the low to mid 40s by a few dB so if this is bothersome to you you will have to use an equalizer to flatten them out. I'm driving 4 of them with a classic Nikko Alpha III stereo amp rated 80 watts RMS. I wired two to each channel in series so the resistance would increase to 8 ohms. I added a simple pre-amp to set the level. Level setting is critical in any home theater and you want to make sure you get this right so they blend properly with the rest of your setup and don't blow apart from being overdriven. A word on mounting - do NOT mount these to a solid part of your furniture such as the main frame structure. You will feel little to no effect. I did this first and was horribly disappointed. I then changed up and mounted one for each seat with deck screws on a 3/4" board attached to the framing for the seat springs. This spring framing "floats" as a 6 point attachment to the main structural frame on 1 x 2s. I had to make sure the board did not touch the main frame, or the effect was reduced. I couldn't be more pleased, they are an amazing deal for the price.

Perhaps useful to compare side to side with a Buttkicker Concert Mini which as far as I can tell is the same as the driver in the Buttkicker Gamer 2. I've run these off the same amp with the same settings out of Simhub to compare them side by side. Pros: - these don't overheat. You can push them to the point that it feels like their giving their best without maxing out at certain frequencies and yes, they get a bit warm, but they don't go into melt down. - the mounting surface is flat, and as long as you have the space very easy to mount - cheap! - adequate response for corner use, in my rig anyway. - doesn't have major piston slap issues in a specific frequency range as far as I can tell. It's either fine, or volume is too high, unlike the BK which can be frustrating because you have to set the amp to avoid the low hz piston slap, and in so doing lower volume where it's much more capable (or eq out 20-30hz a little). Cons: - does not have the same deep resonance that the BK is capable of. That BK thrum that you can get from low revs is just excellent, but I've it's getting that by working hard in the 20hz -30hz range, and that's what makes the BK overheat.. so I can't really give the BK a complete win here. All in all I think it's a product that "just works". It's not the best response available, but it's easy to dial in and enjoy for hours.

WOW!! Amazing Product!! I have a 5.1 surround setup and WAS pretty happy with it paired to 50" screen, etc. Added one of these bad boys and DANG!! Love it I used the Mediabridge ULTRA Series RCA Y-Adapter (12 Inches) - 1-Male to 2-Female for Digital Audio or Subwoofer - (Part# CYA-1M2F-P ) to split my RCA pre-out from the receiver and took an RCA line from the splitter to the ONEU Audio Amplifier, Separated Subwoofer Volume Controlled Stereo Amplifier 2 x 45-Watt and 1x68W Sub Output, Super Bass 2.1 Channel Audio Power Amplifier with Power Supply . From here I used simple AmazonBasics 14-Gauge Speaker Wire - 100 Feet in a 50 foot run to go from AV rack to the couch. (Side note: I throw in the cable info because you need not waste money on oxygen free cable or twisted speaker wire or other "Gimmicks" The wire above gets the job done) Love the shaker/ tactile transducer. You do need some crossover control in place whether it's from your AV receiver or a separate amp or from a crossover control unit. The amp I ordered has it built in, but my Yamaha app had it built in and shunts off all signals below hertz to the sub line out. IF you just took a tv line out, etc to an amp for this thing, I found you feel every little noise. This is why you should have crossover control. Love this thing! Flipped over the lazy Boy and used four wood screws and inserted my 14 gauge wire (Which the binding posts easily accepted) and it just worked! Love it!! May get a second one for the same couch down the road but for $50, I'm really happy. I am definitely sold, and even have the other half pretty convinced on it. (Used a clip of an Indiana Jones Explosion.) The real test will be Friday night with the movie Hacksaw Ridge.

I've had these transducers for 4 years now and honestly the first 3 years I was less than impressed. I had them hooked 1 per channel Left and Right from a receiver to a subwoofer than attached to the bottom of my seat and foot pedal area on my racing rig. At first it was cool the nice rumble and by the way these bad boys shake hard enough for me to sound proof my rig, yep lots of vibration from unsecured metal. However this setup led to the shaker not just shaking but producing waaay to much of the wrong signals such as voice through the shaker, wow how bad that was. A year ago I came across SimHub. SimHub took control of these bad boys and only output the signals I wanted such as piping in the RPM output to both shakers and not everything coming out of the receiver. After that the sky became no limit. Now I feel just the signals produced by the road such as bumps and the like. Now with proper frequency cutoffs and inputs I had to isolate the rig from the floor living on the second floor the neighbors didn't like me until I used great sound isolation rubber matting the Navy uses for that purpose. All and all watch your power output to them cause they do get hot with use and sound extra terrible. The best transducers I've EVER used. Even at 75 dollars which I find to be expensive they are still worth every penny.

I have this hooked up to a very reasonably priced amp (ZK-502H 50W+50W Bluetooth... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L38Z841?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share). And from the amp to the computer via USB, so that the computer will recognize it as a completely different audio device than the sound card, since that is already used to drive speakers. This way, in iRacing (and probably other titles,, dunno) I can set the LFE output to its own device which drives this shaker only with LFE outputs, and not the whole game sound output. I've literally drilled holes in the bottom of my racing rig's seat, to mount this on the bottom. This setup is petty amazing. Nearly inaudible. But remarkably strong and precise. At default LFE settings, this thing will just about throw you out of the seat. Yes, that's a slight exaggeration. But it's enough to blow your mind. I never thought that I would like a shaker in my rig. Seemed too gimmicky to me. But when a buddy loaned me his super cheap Dayton shakers and an even cheaper amp, it impressed me enough that I knew I had to have it. The immersion was much better than I expected. But it had to be better of course. Looking at some of the known brand shakers for this purpose, I got seriously sticker shocked. I knew I could dyi something comparable for a fraction of the cost. This setup fits the bill! Not terribly expensive. And, I can't imagine how a 4 shaker setup would ever be needed after experiencing this. . I am planning on buying a 2nd one tho, to put on my pedel plate using the 2nd channel of the amp. But I may have to upgrade my amp to one that has balance control. I'm pretty sure that the pedel plate one will not need near the same power. But there's no way to control that with my current amp. But still, even with an amp upgrade, I'm still going to come out at WAY less cost than buying brand names.

I review things after I've had the product for some time. I encourage others to do the same. I believe It's more fair to the buyer. My initial thoughts were these were going to be to intense (to efficient perhaps?) and not functional for my needs. I purchased three units for my home theater system. One had a manufacturing defect but they got it promptly replaced. I wanted them to be an extension to my system, not a distraction. You know an amp that is over rated and under driven is the best approach for getting good and reliable sound out of a speaker. However, these are not speakers. And I needed to make myself believe they would handle and feel like they are. Not a distraction but a sense that it's my sub-woofer that is doing the shaking. This is no easy task for making it an extension of my sub woofer. My sub is quite adequate in producing the low notes, but I have a harder time with feeling the results in a large room. So I either shake my neighbors out of their house with my sub or try these little transducers in my seats. I had a hard time tuning them, but after using some sub filters and a very low volume, they have created that extension to my sub feel that I was looking for. During light music they are not producing anything, they would be a complete distraction. But when I want to listen to techno or an action movie, they come to life and are set at a subtle level I can handle. If you are wishing to do the same, then you might need an external source to filter the unwanted frequencies and tune the output to the right levels for your system. If you just want them to be a butt kicker for a cheap car stereo (and for a cheap massage) (smiles) you can get that too without the attention to correct tuning if you like it that intense.

Wow, this thing really does turn up the bass. I bought a 6 inch wood platform and used a few RAM mount connections to mount this to my Steelcase Leap office chair. It is a removable configuration and doesn't affect the resale value of the chair. I initially had a Vybe Haptic Pad that i got for $40 which was great, but nowhere near as comfy as sitting in my chair unhindered. It is small enough, yet powerful and mounts discretely. It worked great with a below $30 Lepai 70w sub amp. It is very accurate and feels great with Music. I haven't tried Movies and Games yet, but music was always the tough sell with my haptic pad. The overall cost for the Transducer, Amp and mounting materials was below $140 which is in the ballpark of the Buttkicker Gamer 2 which is out stock everywhere at the time of this writing. My only negative is that i couldn't use a audio transmitter to make it wireless, but it's not a strike against this item. Parts that i used to mount purchased from Amazon. 1. I have it posted to the pole under the seat of my office chair. Update: I got the wireless receiver working so now this is more portable and i only have to plug in the power to any socket. Dayton Audio WS-12 Wireless Audio Transmitter/Receiver Final update: Still going years later. My setup is completely wireless now using Talentcell 12V 6000mah battery.

These rock! I have a pair bolted to my theater couch powered by a small amplifier I purchased rather cheaply. Huge difference with the dialog of the film. Furthermore, you can shut all your subs down to thier lowest level and watch Top Gun Mavrick at 3:00am with no worries of disturbing your neighbors.

I'm not sure if I have received a defective unit, but one of the two bass shakers I have ordered is MUCH weaker than the other, I have tried different cables and applications to no avail. An expensive defective unit..

These bass shakers are absolutely phenomenal! I originally purchased four, thinking I’d need that many to really feel the impact. I bought a couple of those and a cheap 100w stereo amp which I connected to the subwoofer 2 output of my main amp. Attached both to one seat, not knowing what to expect, and the vibration was so strong it was uncomfortable! I then moved one of the shakers to the other side of a 6 seater sofa and it was still too much so I've had to turn the amp down to about 30% - it's now a great addition to the home cinema, and really adds a bit of extra sensation to the cinema experience. Bought then for a bit of a laugh, but yeah, quite impressed!
