This is a nice basic background stand meant for lighter loads (up to 10 lbs) that will go up very high when needed and it does the job well. The knobs are easy to tighten and loosen and it breaks down quickly. The 13 foot reach lets it go high enough for full length dance portraits in a studio, or (I guess this is a thing now) put your video camera up high above the crowd at kids sporting events. Either way, it's a great value for a relatively compact and light weight stand! We had a small problem with item due to a part lost in shipping and the vendor was prompt and professional making sure we were taken care with a replacement delivered quickly. A+ Service. CAUTION: This unit is great but do note it is listed as for light and medium weights, UP TO 10 POUNDS. Pay attention to that!! As a 40 yr pro who's experienced other older stands crashing dangerously down over the years, it is critical for you and your subjects safety that you pay careful attention to this as people can be injured if a stand fails and lights or background come down. Consider EXACTLY how much the weight total is of your 9' roll of seamless paper or 10' wide big muslin backgrounds, big aluminum core or cross bars, clamps and your bg roller adapter, DSLR and Lens, or your Einstein flash head with a big softbox and be sure it's not too much for these stands to hold SAFELY. (There are different "heavy duty" stands made to handle extra heavier loads if needed.)

Normally I do not write reviews about products because I find so few items that meet standards that we used to take for granted 20-30 years ago. I do classical audio recordings and needed some high microphone stands. What a wonderful surprise to find an affordable tall (13') stand that is so well made and sturdy. It is also very versatile because of the top end adapter that comes with 2 end stud adapter with 1/8" and 1/4" threaded ends. It also allows for a 5/8" pipe to be slid thru the middle of the adapter. I am locked into a single fixed stud on my Manfrotto so I have to use the Rapid Adapters for microphone clips. The base is wider than my Manfrotto stand and therefore provides more stability to the top end where the microphones will be reducing sway and vibration. All the mounting hardware is solid and telescoping action is smooth and precise. Bravo!

This is a SOLID stand. For lights, backdrops, etc, this is it!

First, a really great price. Can't beat it. Second, it's light enough to tote around in our sports cart, but it is big enough that I wouldn't want to tote it around, and my camera, and my backpack, and kids sports gear, so either enlist help from your kids, or know that you are not going to trek all over a sports complex with this. Third, we travel for lacrosse, so we already travel with a lacrosse bag that this tripod will easily fit into, but it's not fitting into a suitcase if that's your plan. It's not small, but I wasn't expecting it to be! It comes fully assembled, and it is super intuitive to use, and super fast to put up. This is going to be helpful at the games! I didn't read what was included when I purchased it, so I bought an adapter so my SoloShot3 would work, but the adapter it comes with fits, so now I'll have a small bag of adapters to give out as party favors! The only negative (and I'm not marking down any stars on this because I was actually anticipating some sway) was that at full extension with the solo shot, I can see how there may be some sway if it's windy. So, I'll probably plant myself close by if that's the case. Super excited to add this to my camera bag (lacrosse bag) for our upcoming tournament schedule! I wish I had this when my older son was first playing. Video at ground level just isn't the same.

I purchased this for a portable antenna mast and it works nicely. It's quite sturdy but light and easy to setup and break down.

Its a light stand but i use it for videoing my daughters volleyball games. I have looked all over for a tall tripod and they were all out of stock. I figured i would see if this would work for what I want. It has a screw on top that will attach to probably many things. I bought an ipad mount that screws onto it and then i bought a motorized tilt machine and it's a great set up. It goes extremely high and is perfect for what i need.

Nice and tall, easy to set up. Would have been nice to include a carrying bag at this price.
