The APC Smart-UPS SMX3000LV is a high-capacity, line-interactive UPS delivering 3000VA / 2700W of pure sine wave power. ## Description

This APC Smart-UPS is designed for IT managers or network administrators to maintain business uptime, data transfer and continuity during prolonged power outages. The 2880VA line interactive 4U rack/tower UPS provides pure sine wave power to support critical electronics during power disruptions. The SMX comes with NEMA L5-30P input, 6x NEMA 5-15R, 3x NEMA 5-20R and 1x NEMA L5-30R outlets. The UPS has a SmartSlot for optional Network Management Card that enables graceful shutdown of physical servers, virtual machines & HCI Clusters via PowerChute Network Shutdown. This uninterrupted power supply can connect to EcoStruxure IT or third-party centralized management platforms. The SMX UPS has a 3-year warranty, and the built-in lead-acid battery has a 2-year warranty. This is compatible with dedicated user-replaceable battery, and the APC replacement battery cartridge helps restore UPS performance to the original specifications. The Smart-UPS comes with a pair of tower-mounting stabilizing feet and rack-mounting brackets. The 3 switchable outlet groups allow more granular management of the power supplied to your devices. This and the external battery pack replaced a pair of underwhelming 1000VA units for our servers. Together they provide us with 77 minutes of back up power with about 45% load from for our Domain Controller, SQL Server, Terminal Server and VOIP Phone server. The assignable priority on outlets make bringing up devices in a particular order a cinch. The network management of the unit and controlled shutdown of attached components has eliminated many worries that our old UPS units caused. As with any battery backup unit, it is HEAVY - this is about 90lbs (50lbs for the battery and 40lbs for the case). This made it especially difficult to move into our network rack located in the attic (Yes, attic - I know it isn't an optimal location, but it wasn't my decision). To make moving this unit as easy as possible, I decided to remove the battery and move each component separately. A highly recommended solution for moving this unit. We are very satisfied with the assurances this unit along with the expansion battery pack have provided and will be obtaining additional battery packs and/or main units are our operations grow.
Review: Cuts power to sensitive equipment. - I bought one of these elsewhere, I believe it was from Jet. The unit has been great for the past 5-6 months with one small flaw. Both PSU's on our Juniper Router were plugged into this; every 3 weeks or so our router would reboot. Considering it takes about 10 minutes for the router to reboot, this was a HUGE issue. This occurred 3-4 times before I finally had an epiphany and thought that maybe the UPS was briefly cutting power to the router, causing it to reboot, so I removed one of the PSU's from the UPS and plugged it into the raw outlet. That was 3 months ago and our router hasn't rebooted since. We also have servers plugged into this that haven't rebooted, my guess is they're less sensitive to brief power disruptions. So beware of very sensitive networking equipment; this guy might be the cause of the exact thing you're trying to avoid.

**Q: What type of connector does this have for input power, is it nema 5-15 or does it require a special type of receptacle like a 30 or something?**
A: Since this listing lists both the SMX3000 and SMX2000, I'll answer both:
the SMX3000 has the NEMA L5-30R plug on it, and the SMX2000 has the NEMA L5-20R plug on it

**Q: Is it possible to daisy chain more than one of these to a apc smx3000lv ups?  as in have 1 smx3000lv and 3 of these batter packs connected to it?**
A: I have never tried but on the back there are connections to suggest that you can. There is a cord with a propriety connector. There is also a receptacle that accepts that same proprietary connectory. So I would assume that this is for daisy chaining the external battery packs.

A: Yes, it does come With the cable to connect to the main controller unit.

**Q: What is the voltage?  description says 48v but apc web site for that part number says it is 120v**
A: Since this is only a battery pack the voltage is 48V when connected to a UPS

### ⭐ Repackaged product

Repackaged product, came with battery connected (big no-no), bezels installed (so naturally broken), and no documentation that normally comes with a apc battery to speak to its mfg date / testing verification. I cannot validate that this is a OEM battery installed, i have broken bezels meaning tons of plastic pieces inside the case that could potentially destroy the fans. Extra annoyed since i needed this asap and need to wait for another shipper to get a new one.
