If you like putting stuff together, it's kind of fun. This is better than paying I think it's like 200 for a new Lexus key, getting it cut and having it programmed. It was hard to get the key out of the original casing that has to be screwed in. Then it was difficult to get the key down into the new key enclosure. I used a jewel wrench to squeeze it down in there. You have to or the holes won't line up, and you can't close the shell around the key. But when you get it in there, it's snug, even before you add the screw in the back. I don't think it can be done with hands. There are some that click together, this one with the screw is super secure. It doesn't have the Lexus emblem on it. Which I'm mentioning because I ordered another that had the key and you add the programming part and get the key cut, but it looks like an actual Lexus key casing. I think this one is more secure than that one though.

This was a replacement for a cracked key fob case for our 2008 Lexus RX350. Perfect fit and moderately easy to replace with the old. That’s going to depend on how nimble your fingers are and if you choose to do this task on a day when your mind is clear and blood pressure is stable.

My original was all taped together because it was cracked and wouldn't stay put. Purchased this is was so easy to switch them and now I dont have to worry about it falling apart on me. Get Product!!

I've had a few of these over the years and they just fall apart after awhile. Easily crack. Even the original that came with the car was crap. I don't think I abuse the key either. This one seems thicker, maybe even heavy duty from this supplier. At least I have two this time. No problems with any of the buttons working. Feels good and looks good.

Required a major notch out and screw change to use on my Lexus es 300 2003 key fob, and I had to use the original back, but once done it is kind of cool! If you are not talented in this area you may want to re-think.

This product was very straight forward. Once you have the old metal key free of any plastic debris from the old key the install is easy. You just slide the key into the new plastic key frame. It’s tight getting the key in, but you want it to be tight. I just used a pair of pliers and gently pressed the key into the frame and it was in with ease. The only thing you really need to pay attention to is the direction you insert the key frame into the fob housing. If you put it in backwards the fob housing will not close fully but if it’s in correct it snaps about 95% of the way down. It’s a great product for less then $10 especially when you get two of these fob housings.

TL;DR: Buy Stauber's key shell replacement instead of this. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. This style of key shell has the same design flaws as the original shell, but worse. In this shell, the provided screw does not thread into the key blade like the original shell. Instead, it is meant to entirely pass through the hole in the blade and thread into the plastic shell on the opposite side. When I attempted to assemble the shell, the screw scraped the inside of the hole in the blade, requiring excessive force to get it through. Then, when I tried to thread the screw into the plastic hole, the plastic stripped, making the shell useless. Needless to say, I returned the product immediately.

Wow!!! So happy we found these! A perfect fix for my ancient key fob. Fit like a glove and worked great from the get go. YAYYY!!!
