The bees landing on the flowers bring the fire-blight. If there are no blossoms the the bees aren't landing there. The point is to cover the blossoms with the antibiotic which gets on the bees legs when they land on the blooms. It's sad that the person selling the product isn't aware of this. **Q: how many treatments does one can make? I have around 100 semi-dwarf trees that may need treatment and need a guess-a-mate for how much I should buy?** A: Treatment depends on extent of disease and size of tree but just from a math perspective: each box has 2oz of very fine powder (like coco) so it a little over 7 tbsp. Each tbsp makes 2 1/2 Gal of liquid. I use about a gal on a large Asian Pear (10-12ft) so that may translate to 2 dwarf trees. So for around 14Gal/ tin you may be able you get about 25-30 trees. For a 100 trees that's about 4 tins per application and I had done about 3 applications 2-3 weeks apart. So in short you may need a dozen. See if there is a bulk pack or bigger size.
