Great Product
I was initially hesitant because of the mixed reviews I was reading, but this product is so worth it if you're going to be painting a lot or a large area. Some important notes. 1. Make sure to clean everything as said. It takes a little time to properly clean everything, but it scrubs up pretty easily. Follow the directions for clean-up as stated. 2. Lubrication of all the pieces they tell you is a must. It keeps parts moving easily and working properly. I actually bought a container of vasoline so I grease up everything very good and have had no leaks or issues. 3. Take your time. If you rush and push too hard the roller head could pop off. Happened to my wife once but she was trying to finish a room in a hurry. I've painted 7 rooms in our new house and have not 1 issue. 4. Do yourself a favor and buy extra duck bills (they eventually wear out) but fortunately they are pretty cheap. Also i like painting with a 3/4 nap roller. I feel the paint went on much smoother with that type of roller.

Effortless Painting Made Smart and Efficient
The Wagner SMART Flow Paint Roller has completely changed the way I approach painting projects. With its automatic power and convenient design, this paint roller has made painting a breeze, saving me time and effort while achieving excellent results. One of the standout features of the Wagner SMART Flow Paint Roller is its automatic power feature. With a simple push of a button, the roller starts to dispense paint directly onto the roller cover, eliminating the need for messy trays or constant dipping. This hands-free operation not only reduces mess but also saves me precious time during my painting tasks. The 22 oz handle capacity is more than sufficient for most painting projects, allowing me to cover larger areas without frequent refills. The large capacity combined with the automatic power feature means I can keep a steady flow of paint without interruptions, maintaining a consistent finish on the surface. The ergonomic design of the Wagner SMART Flow Paint Roller is another standout aspect. The comfortable grip and lightweight construction make it easy to maneuver and control, reducing strain on my hand and wrist during extended painting sessions. It truly feels like an extension of my arm as I smoothly glide the roller over surfaces. The roller cover itself provides even and smooth coverage, ensuring a professional-looking finish with every stroke. The high-quality materials used in the roller cover and paint roller overall contribute to its durability and longevity, ensuring it will serve me well through many projects. Cleaning up after painting is a breeze as well. The easy-to-disassemble components make it simple to clean the roller cover and the roller itself, saving me time and hassle. I appreciate that the Wagner SMART Flow Paint Roller is versatile enough to use with various paint types, from latex to oil-based paints, making it suitable for a wide range of projects around the house. In conclusion, the Wagner SMART Flow Paint Roller is a smart investment for anyone who loves DIY painting projects. With its automatic power, comfortable design, and high-quality performance, it has become my go-to tool for achieving professional-quality painting results. If you're looking to make your painting tasks more efficient and enjoyable, the Wagner SMART Flow Paint Roller is the way to go. Experience the convenience of automatic painting and unleash your creativity with ease!

All around bad buy unfortunately
I bought this item because it had all good reviews. I now think manufactures pay people to review and rate many of these items. Cons: Heavy to work with (just imagine all that paint in the tube), leave's bad lines where the paint seeps out of the roller , the nap on the roller cover isn't that good, doesn't save any time really, wastes paint instead of saving, can't do bottom half of walls in small areas because it's too long. Hand rolling turns out much better and more versatile. Cleanup is more work than the conventional rolling. Pros: Lesson learned don't buy these roller types of gadgets. Limit self to essential supplies and don't buy into more. *I must help out my fellow DIY'ers

Surprisingly effective. I can see why some may have bad experiences.
Pros - I'm probably painting 2x as fast with this. What else matters? It's fairly cheap compared to what just a normal roller and extension stick would cost you. Cons - Clean up sucks. Limited replacement roller choices. Several points of possible failure that could make things messy. Very long when fully loaded which makes tight spaces difficult. Overall I'm very pleased with this product. I've painted 3 coats on my 2.5 story entryway with excellent results (1 primer, 2 paint coats). I've found that not only am I much faster when working in all situations (floor, ladder, stairs) I also make almost no mess. Since you are in control of the exact amount of paint on the roller once you get the hang of this thing you are never putting too much paint on the wall or roller so rarely do you have anything dripping to the floor (I don't even put floor protection down now I'm so confident). Like most good machines in life this requires periodic "servicing" and cleaning. If you let paint dry in certain places it will no longer seal correctly and can leak. If you clean it too well you will remove the grease off the joints and paint can leak through there. I am perfectly happy spending 15 minutes cleaning and lubing this in the sink after a day of painting instead of lugging around a roller tray that can spill, having times of too much paint on the roller causing it to run on the wall or splatter on the floor, and going up and down the ladder often or balancing the tray on the ladder while working up high. Will you see the pros using it? No. They probably don't tape either. They are pros and have spent many years of their life painting and have reached a skill level which I never will or care to. As an average painter this thing definitely saves time. The only real downfall is it's size in tight areas, it's really long when fully loaded because the plunger extends all the way out. I'm docking a star for that and the maintenance requirements. If I have to throw this out after a few more jobs because it stops working I will not hesitate to buy another one. It pays for itself quickly in my opinion.

I am using this to paint a small room. This does what it says but consider below comments: 1. It really keeps area clean and less messy. 2. It is heavy over time and was ok (for me) on walls, but for ceiling it's a challenge, I am not short and not very strong. My challange for ceiling is its heavy weight and it may need to have a bit longer arm to paint comfortable. It really needs strength over time, so if a person needs to buy he or she should understand this point specifically if it's not one or two walls. 3. Its cleaning is straight forward but time consuming and that's life you cannot get everything all the time. To me, I would probably rather use normal roller and use more sheets to protect floor, rather than cleaning at the end if the day. Knowing what I know after buying this, I would probably opt for normal roller, but it is a good item. I'll give 4 stars for the efforts done. I had no issues, no spillage, no paint falling or whatsoever when I used but noticed some reviewers said so.

this paint roller works perfectly, provided you understand how it works . it will not suck up emulsion paint immediately requiring several attempts to wet the inside of the paint tube, it is best if paint is sucked into the tube manually and then several attempts will get it working correctly Try on a plain wall to get the idea of how it works ,if too much paint is loaded using power button paint will drip off roller , as I said trial and error .I have used this type of roller for years This roller is very efficient at applying emulsion to walls and ceilings, the tube holds about one litre. Like all paint rollers preperation to pre paint interface areas is required . The batteties (4/AA cells) last for days, about 20 litres . A few pointers ...the so called duck bill valve is made of rubber and closes after every fill to prevent backflow , careless usage when filling will distort the valve and cause leaks new valves are available at rediculous prices coming from usa to europe . The roller need not be cleaned every day just exclude air with a plastic bag .Finally any paint in tube can be forced back into container manually and cleaning is carried out the same as any paint roller it is critical that all paint is flushed out before storing as hard paint can damage seals .Finally why can wagner not suppy a few spare duckbill seals with the new product

I got a contract to paint a 350 square feet appartment with a 9 feet height ceiling with overheads and other difficult to reach areas. With a regular tray and roller tools, it will be a long project. With this painting system, it took me 2.5 days with 2 cotes of paint. I was able to reach all walls with not too much difficulty. The fact that paint is loaded within the handle, makes very easy to apply the amount of paint needed, reducing the time and the mess of a regular painting job. I highly recommend this product.
