I used to email image stills, but in a high traffic area or an outdoor video (with lots of bugs flying around) , the emails can fill up your spam folder.2. I've used a few of these over the years and this is the best of the bunch. My first unit by another vendor had a really bad picture and recording system. It was an entry level unit so you get what you pay for. I then went the route of making a DVR PC to handle all of my security cams. It worked pretty good for a year or so but had some issues and having to maintain a PC just for this was a bit of a pain. So I decided to try this unit... I am so glad I did. No more Windows updates, system crashes, AV scans, excessive power usage, etc. I popped a couple 2 TB low power hard drives in that I had in the back room, the system formatted them and I was up and running in minutes. Right off, I was impressed with the picture clarity! The modes for viewing work flawless also. The HDMI and VGA outputs work well together too. The audio is a plus if you have some microphones. ### ⭐ Very Short Life *by K***B on February 9, 2016* It was a fair DVR, everything worked for 10 months, then it started rebooting every hour or so. Tech support was great and offered to repair the DVR but I had to pay for shipping. Not willing to pay the $50 bucks to sent it back and I'm not crazy about having a repaired unit either. So I'm off to find a non-CIB replacement 16ch DVR. I also have the 9ch unit running for the last 6 months, so far so good on that one. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Problem with aspect ratio, solved *by M***Z on September 28, 2015* One star is it still is not functioning correctly. I purchased this at the end of May. And due to my health have not had an opportunity to get this set up till just a few weeks ago. I was using the cameras off my old PC-based DVR system. Could not get the aspect ratio to record/display correctly. The pictures were all stretched out horizontally. Since I was using old cameras I purchased two new cameras that were 960 H to see if it would make the aspect ratio correct. The aspect ratio still is not correct. Over the last few weeks I've been emailing Tech Support back-and-forth and I've been unable to solve this problem. I just emailed them today about the new cameras I purchased and how to get the aspect ratio correct. I am medically disabled and limited to the amount of energy I can put towards getting this to work.Updated September 30. I was finally able to solve the aspect ratio problem. There was a setting on the monitor to fill to aspect ratio or fill to screen. Fill to screen was the de fault choice. Add a photo of the screen shot for the setting of aspect ratio. Took me a long time to find this but I finally did get it to work.A couple more things to check out that I emailed Tech Support about that I haven't had time to try what they said. But making Address so will change it from one star to 3.I would've expected tech-support to suggest I look at the monitor settings to solve the problem that's why I only gave them three stars. I've never had to change any of this type of setting before when attaching the monitor two different computers as a second monitor.
