Needs screw lengths on the screws
Great kit works awesome, it's just not easy to install as the screws lengths aren't on the screws so you have to measure each screw. Not what I'd say is easy as I used the wrong screw 2 times due to not measuring from the right spot. Once installed it works like a dream.

Nice complete package for replacement
Have an old chinook. Broke the pivot. This replaced all the lines foot controls hardware. The rudder is a plastic material. Foot rails are aluminum. Fasteners are stainless. It comes with turtle bungees to handle the rudder up and down lines awesome improvement from old. Instructions are extensive and cover multiple installations. Things to consider. My advice is to use whatever original equipment on your kayak if you do not have to replace. As example I wanted to change the foot pegs but the screws were frozen and I drilled them out the heat from friction melted plastic hull and I had to use a stainless fender washer to reattach the new foot pegs and rails. So be mindful of anything you really do not have to replace. Also plan time for this as it is a lot to do a complete replacement. But this is an awesome rudder package.

Look for better rudder lines
I got this for my wife earlier this summer for her b'day. Due to one thing and another, didn't actually get it installed until late summer (so long past return date). This was a challenge, getting it installed. The instructions were....well, I've seen better. Seen worse, but see better. Got it installed. Things seemed to be working okay. So we took it out for a paddle one weekend. After being out on the water twice that weekend, we noticed something disconcerning: the rudder control lines (which are a stiff thin rope) were fraying. The sheath had totally shredded, and the core was laid bare and starting to tear. (see photo; you should not be seeing that white bit). And it wasn't just on one side. But BOTH lines were shreddng! Good god, what the hell? I paid $300 for this?? It's long past the grace period for Amazon to replace or anything, so I'm not even going to bother fighting with them about this. I AM going to look for better, more durable lines, though! The rudder was working great when we were in the water, but now she can't use it at all. Very disappointing. $300 freaking dollars for this...

With the $
It took several hours to install, but the instructions were easy to follow. I used the kayak on a trip to Voyageurs National Park immediately after. The rudder saved my skin when we were caught in an unexpected storm. I was able to keep my kayak upright and pointed into the waves despite the wind. I won’t go up there without a rudder again!

Ok once installed
Took me a while to install, lot’s of parts and awkward access to mount hardware. I also have an older model that has an aluminum blade, this one is plastic. The foot rail holes were 1/8” or so off from the foot brace holes that came with the kayak. After wrestling with them for 30 minutes I finally got the screws in at an angle, which is not ideal because the screw heads don’t sit flush with the hull.
