Mind Maps for Kids: The Shortcut to Success at School. An essential workbook for improving memory, focus, and study skills in young learners

I’ve bought this book several times for friends children. I used the Adult version years ago myself when studying and found what I learnt from them absolutely fascinating and amazing in helping me to retain the knowledge I was learning and absorbing. My classmates and I used my Mind Maps as brilliant tools for when we were studying for our exams. We all got A Stars in our Exam Results. Having learnt so much from using Mind Maps initially I’ve used the same principles throughout my career when on courses etc.

I bought this book for my daughter who just started high school (year 7). I had shown her mind maps before and how to use them but she had never ventured beyond playing with a free min mapping program (reviewed at:[]) When I gave the book to her, she dismissed it as "this is for little children" and promptly started using mind mapping for her school work to an extent that she received a commendation for it from her teacher. :-) It defintely worked. She may even get around to reading the book. I use mind mapping a lot and checked the book before I gave it to my daughter. It is clear, straight forward and contains everything children (of any age) would need to start mind mapping. Once they get it, there is no limit to what they can use mind mapping for. The illustrations are attractive and the examples chosed speak to kids. All it needs is encouragement from parents and educators to use this fabulous tool.

My son is 9 and has dyslexia and this is a useful tool to help get conversations going. I think it will help when he gets older as it has handy hints and tips for studying as well as fun stuff ☺️

The 1st book in the MM4K's range by Tony Buzan (2nd is 'Max Your Memory and Concentration'), and must say I'm very impressed. Not sure why these techniques are not used more in our schools but probably a good idea for parents not to leave this to chance. Some of these techniques would be classed as 'accelerated learning' which in theory means they could be useful for all ability ranges. Although these books are written for children (7+), the younger the child the more likely that they will need these techniques explaining to them, although it will be a good study companion throughout later primary and high school. Note - The information in these books is just as relevant to adults although there are books written by Mr Buzan for the adult reader. Recommended.

At first look this book was going to be a great help for my daughter 9. However I agree with other reviews that she was unable to read herself due to the text used. I went to get the free software and it doesn’t seem to work?? Anyone have any luck with this?

My dyslexic granddaughter has started using mine maps after I bought her this book and explained how mine maps work she is going from strength to strength. This book explains how to fully utilise a mind map. Just wish had bought this for her much sooner it really has been an asset to her. Excellent book showing how to use mind maps. Bought second hand for £2.80 absolutely fantastic!

Read this in the early 2000s as part of a teaching course. Bought it for 2 of my granddaughter’s to see if they can engage with this form of learning. I like mind mapping as a ‘tool in your toolbox’ so to speak. Well worth buying.

Great book and some brilliant ideas, all laid out really well. Only problem is the strange 'halloween' style font used throughout. this makes it very hard for dyslexics to read and process. A dyslexic child will need an adult to read it for them which is a bit annoying as mind maps are used a lot by people who struggle to use lists etc. This book sadly doesn't meet the 'Plain English' guidelines. But content is sound!

Tony Buzan' s Mind mapping technique is a game changer in academics as well as business decision making. This book is specially printed for students. Since my child was in grade 1 , I read it. The book was over in 2 hrs( inspite of me being a slow reader) that's how well spaced the book is. Also Tony follows his own mind mapping approach and hence this book is a colourful delight. The pages are laminated ( each page). The content is brilliant!!!! I have bought 2 extra copies just so I can pass on this gift to others. Mind mapping is a brilliant technique that helps kids memorise exhaustive , content oriented lessons in the most fun way possible. Thank you Tony Buzan!!!!❤❤❤
