Most of the reviews are old and I feel as though they may have been for a different product - specifically referring to the review stating the pump turns on immediately when connected to the vehicle battery. Just to be clear, this unit does not do that. This is the Bravo BTP12, a.k.a. the Bravo Manometer, according to Bravo's website. It has an "on" button and a separate "off" button, so it does not turn on until the "on" button is pressed.This kit does not come with a Halkey-Roberts (HR) hose adapter, which is what you'll need to inflate your iSUP, so be sure to order one of those along with the pump. Amazon conveniently shows this pump along with an HR valve in their "Frequently Bough Together" section, but I clearly didn't get that memo when I bought this pump. I ended up buying two iSUP's that came with their own foot pumps, so I just removed the HR adapter from one of the foot pumps and it fit properly onto the Bravo hose using on of the white Bravo connectors.Usage of the pump was fairly straightforward. One review mentioned that the hose was stiff and difficult to screw into the pump, but I'd rather have a thicker/stiffer hose than a flimsy one like what came with my foot pump. It does take a little manipulation to get the threads of the hose to line up with the threads on the pump, but that doesn't warrant a lesser rating. I correlate the stiffer hose as being good quality and everything seems as though it will last a long time.I did not time how long it took to inflate my iSUPs, but I want to say it took no more than 20 minutes to do both. While they were filling I was able to assemble my paddles and prep a few more things, so there wasn't much downtime. The deflating feature is just as valuable. It was just as easy as inflating and helped pack up the iSUP properly, as opposed to having to roll and lay on the iSUP to try and get all the air out.The cost is high for the pump, but I don't feel that cost deserves to have a star removed in this case. Bravo certainly seems to have the market cornered on these pumps, but you get what you pay for. I was hesitant to pull the trigger on the pump at first, but after trying to use a foot pump on two iSUPs, I quickly changed my tune, especially since I plan to use this often.Be sure to read the instructions prior to use. A few reviews claimed their pump died after only a few uses. The instructions are very specific and state that the pump should not run for more than 20 minutes at a time, and also not to adjust the PSI gauge lower while the pump is being operated. (i.e. if your iSUP is currently inflated to 10 PSI and the pump is running, don't adjust the PSI gauge to anything lower than 10 PSI).Portability is very good, as everything is contained within a nice nylon bag about the size of a lunchbox (if you need exact dimensions, I'd be happy to oblige). It will certainly fit into a checked bag if you plan on traveling with this pump. Keep in mind this kit only includes the alligator clips to connect the pump to a vehicle battery, so you may want to purchase the separate battery pack, or purchase the kit that comes with the battery and alligator clips. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good pump *by H***G on April 20, 2025* Works as intended seems to be reliable. ### ⭐ Used it a dozen times then it died - same as with Jeff Norris review *by M***N on June 5, 2017* It worked well about a dozen times. Now when it switches from turbine to piston ( less than 1 psi) it no longer pumps air. I bought it through AMazon but it was a couple of years ago.
