I have ordered this product many times from different sellers. Right now this is the best deal on Amazon since the package contains 60 capsules. These probiotics are by far the best on the market, but the price is very high. If they raise the price I will be forced to find a different brand of pro-b's. Otherwise the product is as expected = excellently made, living, fermented probiotic cultures in enteric capsules.

This product -- Dr. Ohhira's Probiotics, Original formula -- should be available to ALL mankind for free! It is the panacea for ALL ills. I am writing this review with the sole intention of convincing all those who are fortunate enough to have found Dr. Ohhira's product to first order it and then continue to read on. Yes, order it before you read the review any further because you simply CANNOT go wrong! Dr. Ohirra's probiotic is simply the most powerful supplement I have tried to date. Please don't get me wrong, there are many other products that are extremely beneficial but this is the MASTER KEY! It is the password that activates all cellular functions and thereby leads to perfect health. IT WORKS! Don't ask how or why, PLEASE just order it! I had suffered LONG & HARD for several decades. I had many symptoms that indicated my body was on its way down and out -- it was shutting down -- approaching coma and death. Among my many symptoms that indicated something was very wrong, were, chronic and acute insomnia, grogginess throughout the day, extremely poor reflexes, walking into pillars and door jambs, inability to drive, wildly fluctuating blood pressure (within 5 minute time span), constipation or diarrhea, inability to concentrate, total memory loss, no zest for life, brown and white patches on skin, difficulty breathing, panic attacks, hopelessness, acute and chronic sciatica, aches and pains all over my body, etc etc. I was truly a walking corpse. All this despite never having smoked, done drugs or alcohol in my entire life. I ate what I had been told was "good", and yet I continued to suffer. Since 2003 I have tried many things to regain my health, some with greater success than others. I have been taking this original formula for 6 days and I have been feeling ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! All I can say is that it works. I don't want to know the how and why, it simply works! Its MARVELLOUS! It has been the SINGLE greatest discovery of my 54 yrs in matters of health. If you did not follow my earlier advice, please pause now and order it, then read on. I love these bacteria's. There is more than one bacteria strand in them which it is how it should be for any Probiotic you buy. A lot of times you can buy probiotics that has just one strand of bacteria and there is a lot of them in it. Not so with these. This is good because your body will actually think of them as an enemy and start to kill off the bacteria when you take to much of the same strand. You might have heard of the saying too much of a good thing can be bad. Well in this case it is. Your body's immune system will see them and start to fight back. You might even get sick from taking probiotics that puts in a insanely amount of the bacteria in their capsules. With Dr. Ohhira's probiotics it's opposite of that. It heals your gut where 70-80% of your immune system is in your body. They only put in the common amount your body needs. He actually puts in a preprobiotics. This is food for the good bacteria so they can stay alive in the capsules and you won't have to put it in a fridge or freezer. It also helps them produce in your gut to keep a healthy balance in your immune system. Now I recommend if you have a stable income to take it every day to prevent you from getting sick, like getting the flu or the cold. I don't have a stable income so I can't do that. So I love to keep some around when I do get sick and take them then or when I feel under the weather. A few years ago, when my mom brought home from work the flu, I used this and it worked wonderfully. She was lucky and only had the flu for 24 hours. Not so with my dad and I. The day she brought it home from an over night job I got it too. I knew I would get it so I started to take the probiotics before the symptoms came, so really early on. One at noon and one at night before bed. My dad was getting sick like normal, mom went back to work as if nothing happened. I would only feel sick to my stomach time to time, especially when I had milk (cereal). So after a while I thought I didn't catch it so I stopped taking them. That's when the symptoms started to get worse. Hot/cold at the same time, body aches, tiredness, then got really nauseated. I didn't wait till I threw up before I started to take them again. The only symptom that I really had to tell me I had the flu was when I drank the milk. The virus was so weak that the normal symptoms didn't really show up at all. I could eat normal foods when I was taking them, just not dairy products. My dad got over the flu in a week but was in the bathroom many times. I on the other hand had it for over a week, maybe 2 weeks, but I never threw up and I could do my daily activities. You can also bite open a capsule and swallow the contents when you have heartburn. They (the company) says it works well in need. I never needed them for this reason but I have bitten them open before. It doesn't taste great but it doesn't taste bad. Some people may like the taste and some won't, but most of the time it will be palatable, because it doesn't have a strong taste to it. I'm sure for some, because there always are some, will be sensitive to the taste and won't be able to swallow it this way. Honestly I think it tastes good as long as I don't have to keep on eating them more than a few in one moment. The after taste is weak so just drink water to wash them down if you have to. If I had to keep eating them this way I could easily get use to it and like them even more.

I am writing this review after 4 months on a new regime in which Dr. Ohhira is a key factor. I have been diagnosed with "fibromyalgia/lyme/yeast/ibs/thyroid/perimenopause", etc... I am 46 and have spent the last 5 years visiting over a dozen doctors, having unending tests and paying thousands of dollars out of pocket. I have seen traditional doctors and naturopathic doctors, and have tried everything from acupuncture to ingesting magma, cortisone shots to adderall. In the end nothing helped my never ending joint pain in my hips and shoulders, my intestinal problems, extensive swelling all over and breast pain, and foggy brain and vision. FINALLY however, I seem to have stumbled on the combination that has slowly and surely been balancing my body and turning back the clocks. Instead of feeling 60+ as I have for the last few years, I have started feeling like my "old self". I have had far more energy and have been able to start running, my pain in my shoulders and hips is essentially gone, my GI issues seem resolved (I have been able to occasionally been able to eat wheat, sugar and dairy which I haven't been able to eat for years), and I have actually been able to back up 4 levels on my reading glasses! The solution seems to be threefold, and makes sense overall, as all the systems involved in the problems are involved in the solutions. In November I started on a low-dose "pill" (mircette generic) in order to alleviate ovarian cysts, which made me feel somewhat better but most of my symptoms still remained. A few weeks later I started up a combo of Wobenzym Wobenzym N 800 Tablets and Dr. Ohhira's probiotics Essential Formulas Dr. Ohhira's Probiotics, Original Formula, which seemed to me like they may address my remaining symptoms. I have continued to use this trio, and have been BLOWN AWAY by the results!!! I definitely move backwards if I stop any of them, but bit by bit I have been able to get totally off of most of my other supplements including adrenal and thyroid. I am sleeping better and have far more energy. The strangest thing is that my body seems to be looking more like it used to, like going back in time. I have had some complications with taking both the Wobenzym and the Dr. Ohhira as they both need to be taken alone, away from any food. And they both certainly have the ability to cancel each other out as well. So I have moved toward taking 4 Wobenzyms on waking with the pill as they seem to be somewhat energizing. Then I take 4 again a few hours later and then again maybe early afternoon. I can't seem to take them later in the day as they make me feel a little hyped and I can't sleep. Then I take 2 or 3 Dr. Ohhira at bedtime, far after dinner, giving them overnight to work. I know they say to use it twice a day but can't fit that in. The threefold "cure" seems to be resolving problems in my gut (always primary, but no other probiotic has ever really helped!), yeast issues, joint issues, overall inflammation, as well as hormones and brain functions. My whole body finally feels like its getting balanced and my future feels a lot brighter. The Wobenzym and Dr. Ohhira are not cheap, and in the long run I will definitely take a punch in the wallet but the solution is far better than spending the money on countless supplements, tests and doctors that didn't make a dent in the problem. i once did not know what probiotics were. once i found out, and decided to try a brand, this one was one of the best in the world from my research. huge variety of strains of healthy bacteria that aid full digestion and many other things, and well sealed so that they last a long time without refrigeration. i could only rely on what was written for why i might take this product prior to trying, but after about a year of taking it, i know personally. complete and full digestion and elimination in the gut of what you eat. this means less hunger and eating since what you eat is fully digested. less weight that you carry in your intestine from not-fully digested food that you carry on your body for a longer period of time and get less than full absorption from...plus many other health benefits. i am leaner, less hungry, carry less weight around my midsection that is stuck digesting. i point out i am a vegetarian, and eat healthy foods, so this works with this product. however, i'm sure this can help you at any stage in your diet evolution. i started taking it while i still was eating pizzas, drinking 2-3 days a week, etc. have cut that down a bit, but started noticing the benefits even back then. if you want to try probiotics, and don't understand what they are or what they do, as i did not, just buy some. i recommend this brand on amazon as amazon has the best price, and i know the integrity of this brand. you will find out for yourself. about 2 caps a day is right...might be a few weeks before you begin to notice the effects, but you will increasingly notice over time. i wouldn't go without these...probiotics, or this brand if i can help it. and as said, amazon has the lowest prices, tho you may wish to shop a bit on amazon as there are variations in who is offering the best prices. this will be a major enhancement in your health. and you will save money on food as you digest and absorb more fully what you eat...tho eating garbage will not benefit you and as such that will probably not satisfy your body as to cut down on your food needs. but eat nutritiously and this stuff will help you get the most from it.

This is a really great probiotic and has many positives in ways of improving your health. I however am really disappointed by the use of caramel coloring in this product. Caramel coloring has recently shown up in the news with links to cancers. I am not sure what kind of caramel coloring is used in this particular product but Mercola.com has addressed this topic and brings awareness that even the caramel in natural products can be harmful. I love these probiotics but dislike the use of this ingredient as I am trying to better my health. I would feel better about taking these if they removed this ingredient, in the meantime I bite the capsules and throw away the actual gel capsule.
