After some weird transmission codes and shifting I wasn't comfortable with, I decided to go ahead and service the transmission. It was past due and the fluid was showing it. I used this fluid and did three drain and fill cycles. After that, my performance did improve noticeably. I did not buy enough fluid this time though, so unfortunately I was stuck reusing some of the fluid from the second and third drain. I just serviced it again after another 30K, and it made a noticeable difference again. This time, I bought enough fluid that I didn't have to re-use what I drained out.
